The M517 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

While cleaning out my elderly mothers house I found a Hp Photosmart M22. The memory card and batteries were missing. Otherwise it looks OK. I put in new batteries and a Lexar SDHC 4 GB memory card. It...

The M22 won't work with your 4GB SDHC card. It only works with MMC and SD cards up to 1GB in size. Having said that, if after cleaning the battery contacts and putting in new batteries, it still doesn't work, I'd toss it and get a newer camera. Giving its age and (lack of) capabilities, it just isn't worth repairing.

Sorry, it just won't work. The HP 435 works with MMC and SD cards. Your new 4GB cards is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible. You need to use cards 2GB and smaller.

Hp photosmart memory problem. unsupported card

Hello There

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

    Unsupported card

Hi - You can download the manual by clicking the link underlined in blue below:

    Photosmart M415

    See page 166:

Also try formatting the card in the camera as cards that have been used in other cameras or formatted on a PC may not work correctly until formatted in the camera.

    Error Saving Image

    From HP's website:
    Check this document:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00191836&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=&product=410648

Error saving image or Error saving video. The optional memory card that is installed was removed before the camera finished writing to the card or was half-locked.
    • Always wait until the Memory light stops blinking before removing the memory card from the camera.
    • With the camera turned off, remove the memory card and check to see if the locking tab on the edge of the card is fully in the unlocked position.

    Also, check this link:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?cc=br&lc=en&docname=c00017052

You might just have to reformat your memory card.
