I have a Dell Dimension 3000 desktop, you can max the Motherboard to 2GB of ram, 2 x 1GB, 1 in each slot, it wont take 1 x 2GB in any slot.

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 Desktop P.C. , you can max the P.C. to 2GB of ram with 1GB in each slot.
I have 2 x 1GB DDR 333 CL2.5 184pin Dimm 128x64 CT12864Z335.16TDY from CRUCIAL.COM ... There are LOW and HIGH DENSITY, 1 seems to work better than others in different Motherboards. The Ram you need will be expensive to newer 1's. Check using the CRUCIAL Motherboard test when you open there site, that will help you then check on Ebay for other prices. But remember Crucial's will be brand new guaranted. Prices seem to be around £25 - £40 per 1GB.

I have a Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M Motherboard with 2gb ram. I want to disable the onboard graphics card and add another VGA card. Which card should I go for?? Will adding VGA card, show physical memory as 2gb...

Hello you can download the manual, and drivers here:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=1810#manual

You can add a graphic card 1 x AGP slot (8x/4x-AGP 3.0 compliant), supports 1.5v display card only.
And Max capacity: Up to 2GB DDR400 RAM by 2 DIMM slots.

ATI/AMD makes very good graphic cards.

Adding a graphic card on the mainboard will not slow the physical memory. It has it`s own ram.

Good luck

It is impossible to increase the performance of a built-in video card except increasing the video RAM. The more RAM you add the less main RAM will be allocated to the main memory. The reason is the video card uses Shared RAM.
To increase the video RAM go into the BIOS setup - video display - memory allocation.
The best way to improve is to install a video card in the AGP expansion slot, you may need to disable the on-board video in the BIOS.

My raid keeps failing and I've had both hard drives thoroughly tested by a reoutable pc repair (overclocker uk) and they say the drives are fine. When I start the pc one moment its ok then next thing it...

My guess is that the RAID adapter (either a separate add-in PCI card, or integrated into the motherboard) is intermittently failing.

Either replace that add-in card, or replace (under warranty???) the motherboard.

Gigabyte ep45ud3p will not boot just installed

A friend of mine just purchased one of these boards and is extremely impressed with it but when he first bought it he bought some lower grade ram and had a lot of troubles with it. He went to Kingston ram DDR2 1366 and it ran perfectly. I don't know what kind you bought but the board is very picky about the ram. The other thing to try is unplugging the hard drives, cdrom and any add on cards except video and see if it boots. up. If this works then add your harddrives, cd and addons back one at a time.

EXCESS USAGE OF RAM

You need to add more memory; windows itself can take a full gigabyte depending on which version you are running.

Increasing memory in e-machine t2240

Hi slcdane 13. One thing with DIMM slots is that, first of all they are color coded there. Im assuming that you have 4 DIMM slots and two of them are one color, and the other two are another color. What that means is that is if One DIMM slot has a RAM module of a certain capacity, then the other DIMM slot of the same color has to contain a RAM module of the same capacity as the first module. Now i am assuming that you have more than two RAM modules and More than 2 DIMM slots. HERE IS AN EASIER EXAMPLE
Lets say you have DIMM slots 1, 2, 3, and 4. Slots 1 and 3 are yellow, and slots 2 and 4 are red. Now lets say you also have 4 Ram modules. 2 of them are each 2 Gigabytes ready, and the other 2 are each 1 Gigabyte ready. Now lets say you take one of the 2 Gigabyte RAM modules and you place it into DIMM slot 1 which is yellow, what this means is that you have to place the other 2 Gigabyte RAM module into the DIMM slot 3 which is also yellow. The remaining 1 Gigabyte modules will have to go into DIMM slots 2 and 4 which are red.

Now do you get it? Same capacity modules have to go into same color slots. Now try it and see.

Does Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 support 2 gb of ram

Yes, this mothereboard can actually supports up to 4GIG of RAM , so probably the problem lies on the RAM that you have, If you're using 2 or more piece or ram to this motherboard make sure they are the same brand because sometimes you will have problem like this if the memory are not the same brand...this is the link for the complete specs of the motherboard http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Gigabyte-Gigabyte-GA-945P-S3-945-Core-2-Extreme-Core-2-Duo-1066FSB-LGA775-DDR2-ATX-Motherboard-w-Audio-Gigab

Hope that helps..........
