Question about Explorer Appliances GRQ15 Top Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Won't cool on propane. Thermostat doesn't change the flame at all. After "burping" it several times without success, we have removed the thermostat, hooked it up to electric - which is fine for now in summer but we have solar electric so soon it will not be OK. Where/how can I replace the thermostat? Any other suggestions or questions?

Remove Fan Pulley on Chevrolet 4.3L Waterpump removal

When it is necessary to remove the clutch type fan on a Chevy 4.3L, it can be difficult to turn the large nut without holding the clutch from turning. If you do not have a special holding tool you may break loose the nut by using a small propane torch and a adjustable wrench and small hammer. Solution: Heat the outside of the nut with a small flame from a propane torch. Slowly turn the clutch several times while heating. Next, quickly grab the nut with the wrench and tap the handle, I belive, in the counter clockwise direction. It should break loose easily due to the slight expansion of the nut on the threaded shaft. I've used this method successfully many times. Obviously be aware of gasoline and battery vapors with a open flame. Duh! Hope it works for you

My whirlpool dryer comes on and runs good but it wont get hot can you tell me whats the problem

Hello there and welcome to fixya there are several things that could make this dryer not heat up
Here are the most common things

Thermal Fuse

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, but the drum
turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer
from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is
blown, it will have to be replaced.

Enter your model number to see parts for your dryer.

Help me find my model number

Gas Valve Solenoid

The gas valve has two or more electric
solenoids which open the valve to let the gas flow into the burner
assembly. If the dryer doesn\'t heat one or more of the solenoids may be
defective. If the igniter glows for 90 seconds but the burner flame
doesn\'t light, replace these coils as a set.

Dryer Igniter

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the igniter might
be burned out. Check the igniter for continuity with an ohm meter. Dryer
igniters burn out over time, similar to a light bulb.

Heating Element

The heating element on an electric dryer can
burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element should be
checked for continuity. The heating element cannot be repaired and must
be replaced if defective.

Heating Element Assembly

the heating element assembly on an electric
dryer can burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element
assembly should be checked for continuity. The heating element assembly
cannot be repaired and must be replaced if defective.

Flame Sensor

Gas dryers have a flame sensor to detect the
heat given off by the flame. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the flame sensor
might be defective. Check the flame sensor for continuity. This is not
as common as a burned out igniter or thermal fuse.

High Limit Thermostat

Although not common, if the dryer doesn\'t
heat the high limit thermostat can be defective. It can be checked for
continuity. If the thermostat is "open" the dryer doesn\'t heat.

Cycling Thermostat

The cycling thermostat regulates the
temperature of the air in the dryer. If the dryer doesn\'t heat it may be
caused by a defective cycling thermostat. This is not common.

Main Control Board

The main control board is normally not at
fault when the dryer doesn\'t heat. Check all of the other components in
this troubleshooting guide before replacing the main control board. The
main control board cannot be tested easily and must be replaced if it is
defective.

Timer
The timer is normally not at fault if the
dryer doesn\'t heat. In many situations where timers are replaced they
end up being returned. Check all of the more common components in this
troubleshooting guide before replacing the timer

Check for condensation buildup in the Induction Blower housing. The condensate tubes or canister may be blocked and causing the diaphragm switch to trip the unit out causing the burners to shut down.

My heater blows cold air when car is stopped. i have installed a new water pump and the radiator is full of water.

you still have air trapped in the cooling system. Get front of car as high up as you can on a hill. Cold engine - loosen radiator cap, fill with 50/50 antifreeze mix. Start engine and run until upper radiator hose is hot (thermostat open). Engine should burp air and maybe spill some coolant, that's ok. Once burped, tighten cap, shut off engine and let it cool down while keeping the reservoir full. It will **** coolant out of reservoir as it cools. Keep it full.

If still cold air, take to a shop that has evac/fill equipment; they will **** air out and repalce with coolant. About $80.

Unit ( model SR142gp serial 0608MA0448 - propane fuel ) operates as designed, but can not cut flame to pilot with the thermostat. must cut the gas control to pilot to the get pilot flame & pilot...

The pilot light should remain "ON" all the time. It is not intended to ever go off, unless you are not going to use the fryer for several months at a time. Then you can just shut off the propane which will shut off the pilot light flame. It does not cost that much to run the pilot light all the time. About one to two dollars a week.

BOTTOM RAD HOSE COLD TOP HOT. ENGINE TEMP ABOUT 160 WONT GET HOTTER THAN THAT NEW RAD, THERMOSTAT, HOSES ,WATER PUMP, COOLING FAN CLUTCH, BACK FLUSHED HEATER CORE ALSO, HEAT WILL GET WARMER WHEN RPM GO...

Did you burp the air out of the system after changing those parts? It sounds like the thermostat isn't opening which is why the lower hose is still cold. Click my screenname, go to my tips and tricks, and choose the one about burping the cooling system - it may help you out.

How to replace a thermostat on a 1993 dodge cARAVAN

Follow the lower radiator hose back from the radiator to the engine. Where it attaches is the thermostat housing. Open that up, remove the old thermostat, put the new one in (there's a small bleed valve on the face of the thermostat -that needs to be at the 12 o'clock position), reassemble, and then burp the cooling system (click my screenname, go to Tips and Tricks, and follow the burping instructions there).

Our Danby propane refrigerator has given us sterling service for about five years, but it has suddenly stopped cooling in the refrigerator box-the freezer still works. Any clues?

Having a simular problem; try changing your regulator on your propane tank. I'm try to find a new thermostat myself. Good Luck!
