Those signs are not a good sign. From what you have posted, I would say your amp is toast. Check to make sure your subs aren't blown. Hook up a separate speaker to each channel to make sure it isn't your subs. Check your RCAs to make sure you don't have a nick in them some where. Just get any pair of RCA's that you know are good and run them directly from the head unit to the amp. Good luck.

I have not received a diagram of my stylus wiring. none of the sites that was recommended have helped. do you know the purpose of each color of the four wires?

One is earth for the right, one is earth for the left, one is right channel and the other is left.
You don't need to know the colours to find the left and right channels. Just connect the turntable to the amp switch on. Then with your finger touch each wire one at a time. One will buzz on the left the other will buzz on the right. You might even get a slight buzz from the two earths.
The cartridge might have the left or right channels marked so you can connect them, but if it doesn't just connect the left to one side and the right to the other, then do the same with the earths. try it out, if the channels are the wrong way round change them, if the sound doesn't sound right change them again and again till it sounds right. You won't damage the amp or cartridge from doing this. Unless it's some kind of static effected cartridge!

To find out what the problem is try this, swap over the right and left leads from the deck to the amp. If the problem stays on the left channel there's something wrong with pre-amp in your amp. If it goes to the other channel (right dead) it's the deck. Next remove the wires to the cartridge to the deck with the fault. Make a note of how they fit on the cartridge before you do. With the amp connected to the deck and on. Touch (one at a time) each of the four wires with your finger. Two of them will probably produce no sound. But from one wire you should hear a buzz on the left channel and from another wire a buzz on the Right channel. If you get a Buzz on the left speaker then all the connects are good and the cartridge has gone. If you don't get a buzz, then there is something wrong with the left cable connector between the deck and amp.

Have you checked the final transistors on that weak channel? They may look fine but may be weak. You can pull them and check them on your multimeter with the diode check and cross it with the data sheet for that transistor.

The Left side turns out was shot, had to get it fixed. So sorry to tell you but sounds like one of the channels has internal damage. I know this isn't the good new you were wanting to hear, but hope it was helpful

How to reset tv. Have sound but black screen

LCD's use a colorful crystal see through display which only visible when light is shining through it. if you have sound and no picture it's always a faulty PSU. Very easy to change out actually.

Technics 1310 turntable has left channel (white

There are just two causes, one is the preamp, which can be easily checked by putting the right channel jack in the left terminal. If the sound is normal, then it's likely that the cartridge in the deck is bad, or some wire is loose. However if the sound is still poor then the magnetic cartridge preamp in the amp has a fault. These are normally a single IC, which will have failed. Find the preamp by tracing the wires from the imput socket to the PC board, which may be alone.

Hmmm, that almost sounds like a bad solder. As things heat up, they expand. When there is a bad solder (even if you can't see it) as the unit heats up and the pieces expand, the contacts at the solder point will meet and allow the circuit to complete, thus producing sound through the right channel.

Take a large magnifying glass, and with it, examine the bottom side of each of the circuit boards, looking for a solder point that is not well formed.

You've camped the speakers onto the right channel only. While the balance is on the left unhook one of your speakers and connect to the other channel it will come on the now you should have balanced speakers. Can you come back and tell me if that helped.
