It would seem that whenever I try and take a picture in daylight, the photo will contain horizontal white lines, I have tried switching the settings but with no luck, could someone please help, as I'm probably being really stupid and it's severely limiting the extent to which I'm able to use my camera :(.
Any help would be *greatly* appreciated. Many Thanks, Kim

I've tried in each of the modes the dial allows and have experienced the same problem in each. How would it be possible to reset it?
Hi kimi , most of the time in the setup menu or take the batteries or accu out for a week or so then insert them again.

Hi kim i downloaded the manual : to get the best results :
Setting Image Resolution and Quality ( page EN-24)
As you get to know the ViviCam 8400, you can set the image resolution (number of vertical and
horizontal pixels) and image quality (compression ratio) based on the types of images you want to shoot.
These settings affect the number of images that can be stored in memory, or on a memory card.
Higher resolution and higher quality images provide finer detail but cause the images’ file size to be larger.
To change image resolution or image quality, perform these steps below:
1. Rotate the mode dial to A , P , SCENE , Tv , Av or M and turn
your ViviCam 8400 on by pressing power the button.
2. Press the camera button, then use page up or page down to select the [Mode1] /
[Mode2] / [Mode3] menu.
In A (Auto) Mode, press flat sd card icon to access in menu directly.
3. Use page down to select [Image Size], then press the ok button.
4. Use page down or page up to select the desired setting, then press the ok
button to confirm.
5. Follow the step 3 and 4 above to set the [Quality].
The possible number of shots and recording time depend on the storage size, resolution and quality settings and
the subject of the image to be captured.
You can resize the images later. (Please refer to section in this manual titled “Resizing an Image” for further
detail.)

to reset:
put in fresh batteries and take pictures until it goes out (and wont come on
remove the batteries and leave the camera for a week or so without ANY power , than put in new batteries , turn it off than wait a few mintues , turn it on again and if it says set date and time you have reset the camera.
