Question about Poulan 42-Inch Steel Deck 17.5 HP Briggs & Stratton I/C Engine With 6 Speed
Had this problem and found it to be one of the housings that holds the shaft for one of the blades had cracked causing the blade to wobble. Replaced it and works fine now. Hope this helps.

Everything sounds and looks good but the cut is uneven. I would think the only possibilities are a freewheeling blade, or an upside down blade. Neither situation is rare. If neither of those is possible I think I would set the whole thing up on jack stands and make sure nothing is going akilter in the mechanism which raises and lowers the deck, one side could be hung up.
