Re: card reader for pc
Did you physically disconnect the card reader while the computer was on? You could have " shocked" the software drivers.!! If you still have the software drivers ? or you installed it using Win_xp software drivers ? usually, u can uninstall the card reader in the control panel.>system>.device manager. right click the device, uninstall reboot!. Windows should see the reader, reinstall the software drivers

Do you mean an 8GB SanDisk USB flash drive (thumb drive) or memory card (SD card or another type) or another SanDisk product?
If you have a flash drive, plug it into one of the 3 USB ports on the back of the laptop. If you have other devices plugged in, you may need a USB hub to add ports. (Note: hubs can fail; try a direct connection if the unit doesn't communicate.)
If you are using a memory card, you need to add a memory card reader. USB card readers are available from many shops; they will be cheaper from some online vendors compared to the big box electronics stores. Get one that supports the format of your memory card. There may be PC card slot card readers but I'm not aware of any specific models. The Inspiron/1200 supports Type I or Type II CardBus devices; 16-bit PCMCIA cards are also supported.
If you have a different item, please add a comment giving more informatiion on which SanDisk product you are connecting to the computer. I hope this helps.
If you need software for your card reader, go to the manufacturers website and download it to your pc. make sure you disconnected the card reader from the pc until the drivers are installed and then reconnect it.
You should be able to find the drivers and/or software on their website located at www.logitech.com. Click on support and look for download software and/or drivers and then follow the prompts to install on your pc.
What model is this laptop? If you can give us the model, we can definitly tell you if there is one and where is would be at, for newer laptop made 06 and above normally comes with a media card reader. (should be sd compatible) If your model is a newer laptop, then it should be there and maybe one of the blank insert has been inserted into the media slot and needs to be pressed out only. So check it out. For older model laptop, you do not get this option and you will need to go buy a usb media card reader and connect to your laptop via usb ports.
That depends on the type of your card reader: if when you connect it to the laptop you only get a single drive letter assigned to it (not as many letters as there are sockets), than no, you can only use a single card at a time.
As you can not fire the SW for it, you can not configure it The only way is to go to Control Panel->Add Remove Programs. Select this device and delete it or uninstall it.
Reboot the PC/laptop.
Now insert the CD that came with it and let the drivers be installed again. Once done reboot the PC/laptop.
Now connect the device and allow Windows sufficient time to detect the device and load its drivers. And when you get a message in the right bottom corner that "Your new HW is installed and ready for use" run its program and re-configure its settings. And this time have a password that you can remember otherwise you may be doing this exercise very often.
