My ps3 does not transmit video or audio on any cords

Reset Video Output

If you are changing cables or cannot see an image on the screen, you may need to reset the video output to default settings. To reset the video output:
  1. While the PS3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the PS3 beeps a second time (approximately 5 seconds), then release it.
  2. The PS3 will power up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

Cant get output ps3 on hdmi cable

  • Make sure the system is off.
  • Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep.
This resets the video settings to defaults (standard video output).
Power up the PS3 again and it should auto-detect the hdmi at this point.

If that does not work use the original audio/video cable that came with the system, power it on, then adjust the video settings and try the hdmi cable again.

Video/Audio output was switched to a HDTV using different plugs. Now I cannot get my PS3 to work on my regular TV.

Make sure the switch is on at the rear of the ps3. But at the same time the system should be off. Hold the power button for near 10 seconds I believe. This will reset your graphics mode. Hope this helped!

    No video/audio output

problem with the main board then. You tried different cables, reset the ps3 and also tried different tv's to be sure it wasn't a TV issue.

You did everything I would have done. Call sony if you decide to get it repaired by them. I think they charge $150 from the last time I checked.

    PS3 Visual Effect Not Working

    Heya Tllynn2200,
It is really unlikly that an electrical storm could of blown out just the visual of the ps3 without damaging anything else. I would say that your ps3 has just changed the output, Turn the ps3 off at the back switch leave it off for ten seconds then turn it back on using the back switch, Now with the on button at the front press and hold that button and let me know how you go, That will reset the display back to factory output and should display on any cable. Please let me know if this worked or not and will go from there

PS3 no picture on screen. Borrowed Unit from a friend.

If the TV was originally set up on an HDTV via HDMI cables you'll have to reset the video/audio outputs on the PS3. When you turn the PS3 on hold your finger down on the button until it beeps a second time, then remove your finger and let the console restart. That should reset the PS3's video output.

Some games won't run on my PS3 40mb

    Hello.
All games should run regardless of the settings. Are they PS3 games or games from the PS1 or PS2? That could also make a huge difference. The 40GB PS3 is not fully backwards compatible. Also, if they are PS3 games, try the reset default video settings. That might even work. Here is how to do that.

Reset the Video Output Settings. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings. Once you turn it back on, it should work fine.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!

Audio problem when connecting to a PS3

It seems the Denon and PS3 don't play nice together on DTS. If you take off the DTS setting, then the PS3 will use DD and you'll get surround for games and movies.
