It sounds like your hard drive may have stop working. Or your operating system may have been corrupted. You can try to restore your computer with back up disks. Or try installing a fresh copy of windows. If the hardrive is not working try a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system. Computer won't recognize external usb hard drive

try it on another computer if that dosent work you should
reformat your computer but first backup all your data by putting your another internal hardrive on your computer and move all your files you need to the empty hardrive and after that take the hardrive with all your stuff in it off the computer and then reformat the hardrive which the external hardrive does not work on and install a new operating system then put the other hardrive with all your stuff back on your computer and transfer your stuff into the hardrive with a operating system then try the external hardrive

OR
you can burn all your stuff into a CD or a DVD
OR
you can put all your stuff into FlashDrives and then after you reformat the hardrive with an operating system put your stuff back into the computer and after that the external hardrive should work

My desktop is getting stuck so many times. It shows bluescreen and physical memory dump even when i tried to install new copy of windows. the error is technical error stop : 0X0000007A(0XCO7B9FB8,...

It can be a few things but usually the atapi.sys file is corrupt. If you can boot into your desktop, open the "run" box and type in "cmd". In that box type: sfc /scannow and press enter. There is a space between sfc and /scannow. You will be asked to put your Windows CD in the CD drive.
When did this problem begin? Have you installed a new harddrive recently? Have you installed new memory recently? Remove and re-insert the hardrive cables. Remove and re-insert the memory. Be careful about electro-static discharge. Sometimes just doing that will fix a bad connection.
Sometimes this error is caused by bad memory. You can download Memtest86 here: http://www.memtest.org/ Grab the prebuilt ISO.zip After downloading the file right click it and select "extract all" Use Img Burn http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write the ISO to a CD. Keep the CD in the drive and reboot.
Also, there could be a problem with the hardrive. if you know the harddrive manufacturer you can usually go to their website and download their hardrive diagnostic software.
Sometimes erasing the hardrive (absolute last resort) will solve these kind of errors. Just be aware that you will lose ALL of your data and it mat not solve the problem. Darik's Boot and Nuke works good for that: http://www.dban.org/

Missing local area network

It is possible that the drivers for your modem, or wireless card that you have in your computer wasn't on the disk that you had. That came with your comptuer that you installed on your new hardrive.

go to http://drivers.com/

They have a Free Driver Scan program that you can scan your comptuer, see if your missing or need to update any drivers for what you have. Then you can download the drivers for free.

Good luck.

Please rate me, and give feed back, or recommend me it be much helpful.

try using the basic utilities that are on the computer. disk clean up and scan disk. Scan **** should give you the info on how bad your hard drive really is. And yes any electrical connections installed improperly could cause harm.

I brought a Maxtor basics external desktop hard drive, 500gb for my laptop. my laptop is windows vista and i can't get the portable hard drive to work or install onto my laptop. what can i do?

A few basics.. are you sure you've hooked it up right? meaning usb cable plugged into both the laptop and the hard drive? Does that particular model hardrive require a power pack to operate? If so, is that plugged in and operational? Assuming that is all OK.. does your system recognise that new hardware has been added when you turn it ( the hard drive on) and it is plugged in? It should but if not.. you may have to use the control panel and choose the ADD NEW HARDWARE feature.. At some point during all this. your system shoud acknowledge that new hardware has been recognized and it should ask for a cd with drivers on it to be installed or it may already have drivers that are compatible with it and self load.. If you fail to get any kind of new hardware acknowledgement, you may have a bad USB cable, a bad USB port or your new hard drive is not operating correctly.. I'll check back periodiaclly to see if any of these suggestions got you going or if you need any more help.. Good luck

DVD hardrive problem

Do you check the setting of your hard drive? It seems that you have already another hard drive (HD) install which is working already were your operating system install. Try to put the 2nd HD setting in slave position. Follow instruction that is written at the back of HD. Your computer should read the 2nd HD as slave and will see it as drive: F or G and so on.

Do you mean the fan is running more loudly?

It's possible the additional heat from the hard drive is raising the temperature inside the case. Most fans are thermostatically controlled (they run more the hotter the PC is) so you'd expect this.

Will it affect the motherboard? If the the fan is running properly, no. The PC should shut itself down before thermal damage occurs. Make sure you don't have it tucked into a space where there's no airflow.

Make sure all the vents are clear (vacuum if necessary); I will even open the case and vacuum, but if you don't know what you're doing, I don't recommend this.
