I was trying to do different things with my SD card and my phone gave me an option of formatting the card so I did not know what that meant so I went ahead and did it now my card is wiped clean and none of my saved photos sounds or anything are on my phone they are just gone

I don't use move music so I just put a new one in. Since my SD card wasn't dead all the time, I was able to copy it off to my computer.

After inserting the new card, formatted it, and all I restored were my pics. That's all I needed.

Put the SD card in a stand alone card reader, and copy the data off it to your computer. Next, format the SD card, and put it back in your phone.

You could try formatting it in My Computer on PC by right clicking on its icon to bring down the option, then format again in the camera to ensure compatibility

You can format your micro-SD Card using a software which you can download by clicking this link. I uploaded it to my FTP site for you and it will be there for a limited time. Download that file and save it to your PC. Then unzip that ".zip" file.

If you format micro SD card connecting it to your PC via USB port, it may not ask for password. (I think your phone asks password to format.)

To format your micro-sd card:

- First plug in your micro-sd card into you PC.

- Run the downloaded "HPUSBFW_2.2.3_MASTER.exe" file.

- In the program menu window, select the device (your memory card).

- Select FAT32 as file system,

- Confirm that all the format options unchecked. (Uncheck the quick format option)

- And click the "Start" button to begin formatting.

To acsess the memory card settings and format on a motorola i856 you need to first look in the settings menu then Memory card here you should find Foemat card and also help.
This is the standard menu layout your phone may differ

nothing new. It happens a lot . sry but ur memory card data will be deleted./. u will have to format it.. that is the only option ..connect it to pc via card reader and format ur card

There Are two ways to format sd card
1) by Phone : Go to Memory card option
Gallery - memory card - option - format
& ur card will be formatted

2) By pc : connect ur phone to pc or sd card reader & right click on removable disk which is your sd card's slot & select format option.
Then it will ask for custom & quick format, select one from them & ur card will be formatted

actually u shold format it by the device in which u are going to use. eg camera. This will enable correct formating for usage of this device.
