Hi, i think you will need to go to a fan store and get a replacement your self to save you cost of just given out money with no service rendered.
Also you can call the company service for help on how to get the remote delivered to you if you can go your self due to personal reasons.
Take care.

When I turn on the TV with my remote the voice on the TV is not being heard. I press the volume all the way and no sound is heard. Could it be that I need a new remote

Well there are many problems I can see here.
First we need to see if it's the TV, Remote, or and Input problem
Do this:
1. Go to the TV and turn the volume up manually. Most TV's should show the volume bar going up and down. (If this fixes your problem then your remote either needs new batteries or the volume buttons are broke and you need a new remote)
2. If you hear nothing from step one then : Replace the batteries in the remote (This most likely is not the problem if the TV will still turn on with the remote)
3. Make sure your TV is not muted. You can usually do this with the remote. (After replacing the batteries) Seldom is there a physical mute button on the TV.
4. If you do all this and still have no sound then you need to check your inputs. First switch over to some other thing. Example: If your watching satellite switch over to a DVD player or a video game system. See if the sound works when you try to use those items. (If this fixes the problem you need to look at the back of your TV and determine if some wires have came loose.
This is all for now. There is a lot more I could go on with, and if the problem persists feel free to comment and I will try to get back with you.

Even with new batteries the remote control has to be pressed continually until the desired result is seen on the VCR. Any ideas?I just changed the batteries and the remote seemed to have lost a lot of its...

Is the remote old or over used?
Remotes don't last a life time. Over time they will wear.
If you take it apart you'll see the carbon coating for some of the buttons is wore off. For a $10 bottle of repair fluid you can recoat and get more life out of it, or buy a replacement from either ebay, or type in the model number into yahoo and see if you can find a replacment remote.

VW Beetle Alarm goes off for no apparent reason

the sensitivity on the alarm itself is too high, or there is something around the car that is interfering with the frequencies that are sent / received by the alarm itself, like other car alarms, power lines (mine actually did it when i parked under a power line) or the alarm unit itself is malfunctioning.

make sure that nothing is around to the (other cars with alarms) or look up under your dash, above your pedals (might have to take the trim plate off) and / or turn the sensitivity knob (flat-head screw driver, or just a simple protruding knob) down. make sure the battery in the remote is good too. if it stil ldoes it after this, then your remote needs to be reprogrammed.
