You cannot replace the cord. If the cord no longer functions correctly then the only fix is to replace the entire earphone, but if the cord still functions then you may wish to wrap a little electricians tape around the damage or to apply heat shrink tubing over it.

My ipod plays songs and i can hear the music but when i switch to radio there is no sound speakers do not work on radio..what is wrong????

Hi Fay
You need to clarify what you are saying....
Your iPod plays songs and you can hear music?
Where is sound coming from... Earphones?
How do you switch iPod to Radio....
Is there a cord connecting both together?
I would then suspect cord or connector type not matching up with radio input connector.
Connectors can be Sterio or Mono
Look at spacing on connector....
Earphone Adapter may help here

My 6133 is barely audible on headset speaker. Works fine on loudspeaker.

hi there!

there's a huge chance that the headset that you have is already damaged. either its speakers or its cord. try using other headset, if the problem is the same, it can be the headset port (where you insert the headset jack). try moving it while its plugged see if the sound changes. if its the headset, replace it, if its not, bring the phone to a local technician so that they can replace the earphone slot. =)

I can't get sound to come out of the right earphone

Hi. Try to check if it is properly connected to the sound source. If it is, check for the wires. Look for damaged parts especially near the ends. If all these look fine then the earphone speaker itself is defective and that means you need a new pair.

Take the headset out and now put the battery back into the phone. the phone got set in headset mode. You can try doing a reset of the default settings. Hi the wire has frayed and is exposed at the entry point into the earphones to My 5 Series Shure earphones. One earphone no longer works. Can this be rectified? Regards, Robert....

hi,you can fix it by opening the ear that is not working and check if the wire inside the earphone has not removed. If it has removed, you can use a soldering iron and a lead to fix it back.
But if the wire inside has not removed, that means the speaker inside is damaged and will need to be replaced.

In replacing the damaged speaker, you will need to go to any nearby repair store for replacement parts .

If you can not get a replacement speaker, you will have to get a new one.

And for the exposed wire, you can use a gum or a glue to cover it up...

Hope it helps..

Thanks for using fixya.....

Some devices such as yours have a 4 conductor jack, (used for earphones and microphone) and most earphones have a 3 conductor plug. They are not compatible. This would be my first guess. Second is earphones and earbuds get tossed around, put into pockets, etc. The cords can get damaged, and not be visible from the outside as the wires inside are very delicate. I would try a set that works in a different device.
