Configure your router with below method then all messup will be fixed. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on WAn settings and set wan settings as internet service provider settings. Then click on wireless settings then enable wifi also enter SSID name and enable broad cast turn on wifi . If you want to secure wifi then enable WEP in wireless security .Enter code it is your password to connect wifi. Then connect internet cable to WAN port then you can use internet with it. Please follow the steps mentioned below on the Computer where the internet connection is working normally and check if the issue is resolved.

  • Please type "http://192.168.0.1" into the address bar, then hit "Enter" or "Return."
  • Please Use "Admin" as the user name and leave the password blank when the login screen appears.
  • Please click on Wireless, enter the Wireless SSID name (name for the Network) and under Security, select the Security type and type the Security Key.
  • Save the settings and try to connect to Wireless on the Computer having the issue.
  • It will ask for the Security Key, enter the Security Key provided during the Wireless setup.
This should resolve the issue.
If the issue is not resolved, reset the Router to factory settings and then try connecting.
Please try to locate the Reset button near the Ethernet ports and press for 10 seconds.

Good Luck!!!!
Please let me know if you require further assistance.
Thank you for contacting.

I'm trying to connect to routers together from one house to another house

Hi, i don't know if you have sorted it out, but i dont think you can do it, I think you are better of buying an 8/16 port switch.

But let me know if you have fixed it.

Nat settings on a linksys wireless router

NAT Configuration is also called Port Forwarding. You can simply open the ports by going to the router's setup page http://192.168.1.1 no username and password is admin. You can do it under Applications and Gaming tab, Port Range Forwarding.

Want to add port for utoorrent, also how to fix nat problem

If you are running a router (sometimes called wireless access point) at home, you will have to configure it to route all TCP / UDP BitTorrent traffic to port 55641 to your computer. When the router asks for a range of ports to forward, simply specify 55641 to 55641.It would be beneficial if you can let me know the type of router you are using so that i can provide step to step solution.

I dont know the correct way to hook up my cable modem, computer, and wireless router together

hello!

-- is this a brand new router?
-- who is your internet service provider?
-- what is the brand of your modem?
-- what is the operating system of your compter

you may try the basic connection:

-- while the router is powered on, reset the router for 10 secs
-- turn off your modem, router and computer
-- from the ethernet port of your modem, to the internet or wan port of your router
-- from one of the regular port of your router to the ethernet card of your computer
-- turn on the modem first, after 5 secs, turn on the router, another 5 sec turn on your pc and check if you can get online

Problems with netgear wireless router

picolas and nannysboy,

You can setup your router any way you like after accessing it. You don't need software for NetGear. All you have to do to access the control panel is:
  1. Open your browser.
  2. Type in this ip address - http://192.168.1.1
  3. Configure the router as you see fit. It's fairly simple and has built in help guides.
If you cannot connect by wireless, do the above while connected by a LAN cable (looks like a telephone cable, only fatter and wider).

The router should be connected as follows:
  1. WAN port directly to cable/dsl modem.
  2. Any port (1-4) running out to your computer.
Please let me know if this helps. Good luck!
