tried every network driver... it installs but does not activate the ethernet port

  • Make sure in bios it is enable.
For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALT + F2 key to enter in bios.
Then go to advanced and enable LAN .
    Then save settings then check.
If it is already enable then right click on my computer icon then click on property then hardware->device manager.
In device manager you can see all drivers list.
Make sure network adapter installed and it is enable.
If there is any yellow ! mark or ? mark or RED X symbol then still need drivers.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
    Thanks for using FixYa.

The problem is I need ALL the drivers.... I cannot hook the computer to he internet to run a scan until I get either Ethernet of USB port working

  • You can download it on another computer where internet is working or at nearest cyber cafe.
After download copy it to usb flash drive then connect it to your computer then install then it will work.

PROBLEM The USB port needs it's own driver !!!! Tried it USB flash drive is not recognized

    This computer needs
    Video
    Audio
    USB
    Ethernet
    BIOS
    dial up
    drivers plus probably more

  • All usb drivers installed already for plg n play devices like usb flash driver.
But camera and other usb audio device need driver.
So check in device manager that there is not any conflict between drivers in device manager.
For that right click on my computer icon then click on then click on property then hardware->device manager then you can see all drivers list.
Then uninstall all usb drivers 1 by 1 then it automatic install all drivers.
Also check in control panel for usb supported driver then uninstall because it conflict with your usb drivers.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
    Thanks for using FixYa.

Docking station usb ports are not working -laptop is lenovo x240

Hi

If all other ports on your docking station are working then this would point to either a hardware fault on the DS or with the DS drivers on the laptop, I would also make sure you have seated the laptop on the DS correctly as this can sometimes cause some ports to appear not to be working correctly

Ibm audio driver pentium d

The same model ThinkCentre can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkCentre, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

Here are specific links for what you need:

Audio:

Ethernet:

USB:

Good luck with it, drivers are usually the biggest pain after a fresh install.

I loaded xp pro but my ethernet port is not active. Do I need to load ethernet drivers?

That means that the operating system doesn't have a database for your Ethernet device. You have to have the driver that came together with your PC and you should find the driver for your Ethernet device using that.

Ethernet Ports stopped working

isn't there just one ethernet port on that machine? the wireless device is an entirely separate piece of hardware. http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/42t8137_02.pdf

click on that link and it'll take you to the hardware maintenance manual for your machine. download it. thats the book IBM's technicians use to fix machines in the field.

I want to download lan driver for my ibm 2684 laptop.

IBM laptops are supported by Lenovo www.lenovo.com.

I assume by IBM 2684 you actually mean IBM Thinkpad R40e. 2684 is one of the two types of that model. There are many further sub-models.

As you did not mention which Operating System you require drivers for, here is the download page for that model:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-46024

I assume by LAN you mean the Ethernet port, not wireless. Please click on Networking: Ethernet to find the driver appropriate for your OS. Remember yours is the R40e.

In fact, there is only one driver for the R40e, covering Windows XP. Here is the direct link:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-50161

I hope this solves your issue.
