XP allows you to change the settings to use the cam. Now windows 7 may not support your video camera. The best thing to do is go to microsoft website and see why windows 7 does not support your video. How old is the cam?

Hi Friend,
Please follow the below steps,

Step 1. Hold down the shift key on your computer to
disable the CD from Autoplaying.

Step2. Insert the Veo Advanced Connect Installation CD-ROM & Bundled Sofware CD-ROM in your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM Drive.

Step 3. Browse to the root (first) directory of the Install CD and locate Autorun.exe

Step 4. Right-Click Autorun.exe and select Properties

Step 5. On the resulting window, move to the 'compatibility' tab and tick the box labeled "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" then select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2).

Step 6. Click "OK"

Step 7. Browse back to the executable (Autorun.exe), run it and install it as per normal.

This fix will work for all of the VEO Stingray problems because it gives a good driver download site and it tells you step by step how to get your cam to work with VISTA Good Luck and let me know if this fixed your problems.

1.Go to this site and download the driver you need: http://www.softsci.com/veodrivers.htm

2.Download it to your desktop

3. Don't unzip, install, or plug in your cam yet

4.Search for this in your start menu: Program Compatibility Wizard

5. Of the three choices click the one that says look for the program manually

6. Choose the option for XP

7. Choose the 680 x 420 or whatever it is not the 256 colors

8. Choose to run as administrator

9. Click next and it should change your screen to a real big resolution and then it will start to install the driver

10. Go through the install wizard

11. After it has loaded plug in your camera

12. Try a program that it is supposed to work with

13. Finish the Compatibility Wizard

now everything should work for your cam.
This works with all of your programs that vista will not run.

DOWNLOADING CAM

If you have the installation disk you already have the driver. You have to BACKDOOR Vista. Put the disk in the cd drive. Exit the installation then go to my computer or just computer whatever your says. Then right click on the Veo icon. Click on explorer. Then open the drivers folder. Right click and COPY the folder that says winxp on it. Paste it to the desktop. Then plug the cam into the usb port. Now manually in stall the driver. When it ask to find the driver click on browse. Then find the folder you just copied. Then click next. I have the same cam and it worked for me. Hopefully you can figure out how I did it.

Will not startup with windows vista

My Veo Stingray works with Vista Ultimate just fine.

How I did mine:

Search for and find on the net (like I did once upon a time) a file named:

"veo_330V_v002"

Install it- Mine wouldnt finish install (95%) because of ".DLL load failer"

Once rebooted- when the system tried to install driver auto. I just browsed to the "c:\program files\veo stingray\drivers folder (created) and it installed and works now.

Hope this helps.
