Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

Machine will stop adjusting resistance. On start up the machine will usually work. I can go through the calibration procedure and it will calibrate and work normally for 4 or 5 resistance adjustments. It will then stop adjusting. It acts like there is a cable pulled and refuses to adjust, even though I am not getting the warning telling me to "Release cable" I have modified the wiring harness so that the wires do not fall off from the stepper motor, so this is not the problem. If I shut the machine down and leave it for several minutes, it will come back and work normal again... for a while. I am wondering if there is a problem with the sensors that are detecting a cable pull? Is there a way to disable those sensors to see if that is the problem

I would think that your problem has possibly to do with a faulty power supply, component, see to my mind it is a thermal problem as it heats up,it goes faulty? The Voltage changes and it goes out of spec.. When left to cool, it then is OK... Usually, & from my experience this is a thermal problem. To see obtain some Freeze Spray, from radio Shack or similar, and spray components on the main power board, and others too, use it on any large heat sinked components and see if when you do this the fault clears. Then replace that component(s).
Or as you suggest the sensors that feed the inputs maybe with sensors though one has little option but to replace them and see if this clears the problem.

There is not specific sensor for this component; its possible that your problem isn't the cable adjust, sound like a recalibrate needed there. Check this from owners manual...

To recalibrate the Console (67), first plug in the resistance system (see PLUGGING IN THE RESISTANCE SYSTEM on page 17). Then, press and hold the NEXT button and the MOTORIZED WEIGHT ADJUSTMENT + button for five seconds. When the buttons are released, a number will appear in the REPS display. Press the NEXT button again, then press the MOTORIZED WEIGHT ADJUSTMENT +
button; this will start the recalibration process. This may take a few minutes as the motor moves between the lowest and highest resistance settings. When the motor finishes, unplug the transformer from the 120-
volt outlet.

The Console (67) will be recalibrated. Use the resistance system as described in the CONSOLE OPERATION section, starting on page 17.

Hope this helps to solve it.

Treadclimber centering

Dear Sir:
ecalibrate the machine if speed is not registering, belts stop turning or the display readout shows an "err, LS, OS" on the face. Calibrate the TreadClimber by plugging it in. Stand on the foot platforms, or floor mat. Do not stand on the walking belt. Insert the safety key. Press the "start" key when "CAL/PRSS/STRT" shows on the readout. If readout fails to show the "CAL/PRSS/STRT" symbol, turn off machine and turn it back on. Press "ENTER" and then "DOWN SPEED" at the same time until "CAL/PRSS/STRT" shows up on the display. Belts will start and stop during the calibration; do not be alarmed. Do not make any adjustments or interrupt the display of numbers as the unit goes through the calibrations. When the machine is finished calibrating, the readout will display "CAL...PASS" and you can press the "POWER" key to get out of the calibration section.

I have a MC2100-12A motor controller in this treadmill. The LED blinks quickly like communication is ok but it doesn't control right. The speed sensor also looks ok. When 1mph is selected it runs at 2.7mph...

The speed sensor on these machines have nothing to do with controlling the speed. The machine will run without it. The sensor is obviously working, since you are getting a speed reading.
The calibration is a mechanical adjustment found on the motor controller, the instructions are found under the lid as well as the meaning of the LEDs flashes on the tech sheet..
Follow the calibration procedure. If the operation is still erratic, I would suspect a defective controller.
Calibration: Press stop and speed up. Install the safety key/magnet. release the buttons. Press stop 1 time. one window displays speed, the other the calibration number. Both should be "0".
Press speed up, the treadmill should begin to move around 25-30. increase to 85, the machine should be a max speed. adjust the pot on the motor board to max speed. Some machines are 10mph, others 12mph. The tech sheet will tell you the max speed. When adjusted, press speed down. the machine will stop. Now press incline up. That will calibrate the incline. When completed, remove the safety key.
If operation is still erratic, change the motor controller.. It could be the console, but the cost of replacement makes the repair in most cases uneconomical..

I want have shematic diagram multimetr Mastech mod. MS8222H. I want calibrate my multimetr. Please help me .

To calibrate DMM you need precision AC/DC Voltage, Current and Resistance source (read: expensive calibrator) and standard Capacitors and Inductors or LCR meter and that is just a start. To adjust it you will probably have to guess what pots are for what function because these cheep meters have no adjustment procedure. Your call.

Error L5 came up. My friend fell off if and of course the machine stopped because of the emergency cable. But now it won't run the belt.

Belts stop turning and “err LS” Speed sensor.
1. Cycle power off and on. 2. Put the machine in calibration mode (see Calibration procedure in Owner’s Manual) but do not start the calibration routine. 3. Remove right rear plastic cover to view LED diagnostics on control board. Caution: Machine is on. Current is active!! 4. Locate LED D on the motor controller board. LED may be lit or unlit. 5. Manually advance the treadle with your foot, and check if LED D is blinking. 6. If LED D is not blinking, then the speed sensor is not supplying a signal. Check that the speed sensor wire is plugged into the motor controller board, to the connection labeled “P1”. Check connection of speed sensor to jumper wire. Check speed sensor adjustment (use business card to set gap between sensor and pulley). If LED D still does not flash replace sensor.

I'm going to try this fix now, hope it works for you and me
Here's what it says for ERR LS:
Belts stop turning and “err LS” or “err OS” is displayed Calibration Re-calibrate machine using Owner’s Manual calibration procedure. Speed sensor 1. Cycle power off and on. 2. Check speed sensor adjustment (use business card to set gap between sensor and pulley). If LED D still does not flash replace sensor. I/O cables If LED D is flashing when the belts are turning but err LS or OS persists check connections and for signs of visible damage to any of the three I/O cables. If no damage, check continuity using a multi-meter. If a multi-meter is not available contact customer service for replacement cables and further assistance.

"No Disc"

Here are a couple solutions:

How To Recalibrate DVD Player

Summary:

For those that are having the skiping up and unreadable disk problems try the following calabration. I did it last night and now my DVD's are much clearer and I'm hoping the skiping problem is gone.

For those that have the lip sync problem Sony should cover this for no charge, you just need to push them a little. This is a firmware update, have a look at the other posts at this web site to find the firmware revision that you need.

HOW TO PERFORM THE CALIBRATION
Make sure that the DVD player is turned OFF and in the stand-by mode with the little red LED glowing above the on/off button.
To enter the service mode/test mode, press Title, Clear, and Power on the remote.
This will produce the following menu:
Test Mode Menu
0. Syscon Diagnosis
1. Drive Auto Adjustment
2. Drive Manual Operation
3. Mecha Aging
4. Emergency History
5. Version Information
6. Video Level Adjustment

Exit: POWER Key
What each item does;
Syscon Diagnosis = Leave this for service technicians.
Drive Auto Adjustment = Automatically calibrates DVDs and CDs.
Drive Manual Operation = Manually calibrates DVDs and CDs with prompts for permission to skip, execute and/or proceed after each adjustment is made or skipped. Offers a fascinating look at all of the many adjustments made, but this method is time consuming.
Mecha Aging = Allows auto repeat mode for testing purposes.
Emergency History = Shows the number of hours on your machine.
Version Information = Shows firmware version.
Video Level Adjustment = Test pattern.
Press #1 (Drive Auto Adjustment) on the remote and the following menu will appear:
Drive Auto Adjustment
0. All
1. DVD-SL
2. CD
3. DVD-DL
4. SACD

Exit: RETURN
Press #1 (DVD-SL) on the remote and insert a Single Layer DVD when the drawer opens.
Even though you may be interested in calibrating only a dual-layer DVD, do not skip the single-layer calibration procedure. For some reason, the player prefers to first calibrate a single-layer DVD before proceeding to a dual-layer disc. Error messages may result if the single-layer calibration procedure is not performed first.
Press the enter key and the machine will begin to calibrate all of the playback features. When calibration is completed, follow the onscreen instructions to return to the above menu.
When the Drive Auto Adjustment menu returns, press #3 (DVD-DL) on the remote and insert a Dual Layer DVD when the drawer opens. Follow the instructions as noted above.
When calibration is completed, follow the onscreen instructions to exit from the Test Mode Menu. Now you can turn the player back on and try your dual layer discs to see if the layer change has improved.
If you have any concerns about trying this service mode calibration, leave it for an authorized service facility
Other solutions:

1. To reach this test menu on a DAV-S300, press and hold the "STOP" and "Muting" button on your DVD Player (not remote) and turn the volume nob clockwise about 180 degrees. You will see a flicker. A blue test screen will appear, allowing you to calibrate your DVD. Please note that if you have no technical experience, messing around in this menu can cause serious damage to your DVD. The calibration option will be under: option 1, Disc Drive Auto Adjustment (or words to that effect). Be sure to calibrate a single-layer disc first, then dual layer -- you need to calibrate both types. Good luck.

In order for the STOP + MUTE + VOLUME sequence to work, your player must be ON, but have no disc present. You need to empty the tray, power off the S300 and power it back on. Wait until the INSERT DISC/NO DISC prompt appears. Then try the SMV sequence. And you must use the buttons on the unit, NOT on the remote, to enter the service menu. Once in the menu, use your remote to select the auto calibration menu and go from there.

2. This will fix the C 13:00 problem on any Sony DVD player.
With the machine turned off on standby, press the following 3 buttons
on the handset, in order: TITLE CLEAR POWER. The Diagnostic Start menu will come up on the TV. Select the appropriate button number for "auto adjust". The
machine basically does it all. It asks you to select either a single
layer or double layer disc (whatever your offending disc is.) Ejects
the tray, asks you to put your disc in and then calibrates it. (It's
over in about half a second... painless) Just follow the prompts on the screen
