Question about HP LaserJet CM1312 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

I have recently created a small office network and installed the aformetioned printer on it. However, once I had successfully done this and it was printing fine, I realized I was unable to scan from the secondary computer on the network even though all the drivers had be installed correctly. I am at a loss at to what to do next. I have tried several forums but to no avail.. Any help would be much appreciated Many thanks, Richard

Whay kind of error message are you getting ?
Most of the times the problem is another multifunctional printer or scanner installed on the same computer, so if you do have another printer you will need to uninstall it first, uninstall the 1312 as well and the rerun the installation for the 1312

Installing OKI c3400n in Windows 7 32 bit

The c3400n does not have its own wireless capability. It must be connected to a wireless print server or to some wired network that has a wireless access point (WAP) connected to it. A third option is to use a home-networking wireless router.

Individual PCs must have wireless capability also, or they can't print over wireless.

Somewhere along the line the printer must get a local network IP address, i.e. 192.168.0.102. PCs usually use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to get an IP address.

But printers are usually manually set to a 'static' IP, because static IPs don't change over time.

Usually there is a security device called a 'firewall' to protect the wired network from unwanted wireless traffic.

So, you first require some form of wireless access.

The people who require wireless printing capability must have their computers configured to make an association to the WAP. Usually requires a passkey or password, depending on the wireless security method.

A port on the firewall must be forwarded to the port used by whichever network-printing protocol is being used to communicate with the printer. There are several possible protocols.

The printer must be set to an IP address unique within the private subnet, i.e. 192.168.0.0/16, used by the local network.

PC-based network-connected devices use IP (Internet Protocol) addressing, i.e. xyz.zxy.yzx.xzy

The printer must be connected to a network switch that is in some way accessible to the WAP. Residential/SOHO (Small Office Home Office) setups use a combination switch/router device, called simply: a router.

Most of the above is done automatically, but there are some set-up tasks that require user intervention. Electronic devices know how to configure everything, after they are given proper parameters.

All you need to do is check the above items. If the printer is found by MS Windows 'searching for network printers', the hard part is done. Then you just tell Windows to use the network printer.

Have you done an clean installation or reset to factory settings.

1. If you have done an restore to factory settings then go to control panel / programmes and features and you will find a previous version of office preinstalled. Uninstal the programme and you should be able to install the application.

2. Copy the contents of the cd and create a new folder on desktop and paste the contents in the folder, remove the CD from the cd drive once when the copying is done. and then open the folder and double click on the file setup and carry on with the installation of office

I have a laptop and trying to network to office printer. How do I do this? The printer is DP 150FX -work 10, #150.

Hi,

So, for some reason, you do not want to connect the printer directly to the laptop. To connect to the printer via another computer means creating a network, which requires a piece of equipment called a router. Also, both the laptop and the PC will have to have Ethernet capability, which may require installing a Network Interface Card in one or both of them. The printer will have to be configured as a network printer, which requires allowing sharing in the Network Folder on the Control Panel. Then, after you have established your network, you will have to install a network printer on to the laptop. This is done by double clicking on the 'Network Neighborhood' icon on the desktop, then right-clicking on the icon for the printer and selecting 'Install'.

It’s help u.

Good luck!
And Thanks.

Need help setting up printer on a network

Set a compatible IP address on machine:
"user tools"
"system settings"
"interface settings"
"IP address" (set compatible number)
"subnet mask" (set the right one)

Download driver if it's not done already, create the matching tcp/ip port, and continue with installation. Select "share this printer".

Driver is here if you need it:

Lost connectivity to network printer when switched to ATT u-Verse

Is the printer connected via wireless? When I recently connected up a new wireless printer to my UVerse network, the printer manual said that establishing the first connection works better via an Ethernet cable directly to the Uverse router. After the printer is set up once, then I could remove the ethernet cable and connect to the printer via wireless from all my computers.
For all wireless PCs that were previously connected via wireless to dsl, you need to create a new network connection for each one, then enter the key that is listed on the side of your Uverse router when prompted. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to establish the connection.
I am amazed that ATT was so unhelpful on these issues. I was one of their first Uverse customers in Texas, and several times over the last years, techs would visit my house to solve a problem or hook something up, explaining to me as he went. That their helpful attitude is deteriorating is a real shame.

IOGear multi-function USB print server

The direction of the GMFPSU01C will never tell you that you need to create another printer driver. Because, once you install the MFP Utility of this print server, you will have an automatic Copy1 icon of your printer once you successfully, detected the print server and once you successfully connected to the Printer.

Since, the computer is not detected the printer on the network, here are the things that you may do:

1. Make sure that the printer driver is properly installed in the computer. and make sure that the printer is working when directly connected to the computer.

2. If you can't detect the printer, disable your FireWall or any anti-virus program that's running in your computer.

3. Uninstall/reinstall the MFP Utility. If the CD is not working correctly, use the driver from the Website. Here's the link: http://iogear.com/support/dm/driver/GMFPSU01#display
