Question about Dell Precision T3400 PC Desktop
I have a Dell T3400 deskto pc running win xp. When you turn on the pc the cpu fan is quiet but one the xp logo comes on the fan goes at full speed and sounds a plane taking off. The fan and heaksink have been reseated but this made no differance. I have read on the net that this is a quiet machine but yet a google search showed lots of people with the same problem but no answers. I have even tried flashing the bios to a09 but this made no differance. Help!!! Thanks Joe
Check your BIOS settings to see if "smart fan" settings are enabled or disabled.
If they are disabled, your fan will run at max speed all the time.
Once enabled, the fan should only speed up as your cpu heats up, and then turn itself down once a lower temperature is reached.
