Your tv has a problem in its tuner or intermidiate frequency section.it is better to bring it a service center to repair it.but if your familiar with tv parts and its function perhaps you can resolder the tuner pins and adjust the IF transformer for video which is usually mark VCO in the circuit board.

I have a sansui 14" tv.14 yrs old.there is showing 220volt supply at antenna & audio video receiver point.what's the fault.how I will rectify it.thanks

The antenna & Audio Video receiver point should not have mains power getting to it. Especially the antenna which is the aerial. If the aerial has 220 volts on it you would get a lethal electric shock every time you plugged in the aerial lead!
There is clearly something wrong with the units power supply if 220 volts is getting to that part of the unit.

PICTURE FREEZES EVEY FEW SECONDS

Not enough info in your Q to help you.

1) What's the source?; TV tuner (digital terrestrial, cable, satellite. Internal or external tuner/receiver box)

2) One channel - some channels - or all channels affected?

3) Just this TV, or are other TVs affected in the house too

4) Are your neighbours having the same issues?

5) What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem yourself? (retuned, checked cables, checked signal level, realigned aerial/antenna etc)

How to use tv split screen

If your TV has picture-by-picture and you have both a TV aerial/antenna and another form of tuner (Satellite box, cable TV receiver etc then you can do it.

Otherwise you'll need a split screen device and two external tuners. That'll be expensive. It would be cheaper to buy another TV.

Got the Nikkai JV-TV888D had no problems at all until now...It won't tune - in and just displays 'No Signal' on the screen! Any help will be gratefully received!

Have you checked that the aerial is plugged in? Does it have an external aerial? If so is it plugged in (Socket on rear takes telescopic or external). If external have you tried aerial on another tv?
If your service is digital is it switched to Digital TV? If it's switched to analogue and you're trying to tune in it wont find signals if you're in a digital area. (or to a certain extent vice versa)

My neighbourgh can get freeview tv just using his old ariel, i on the other hand can not. have i done something wrong with the tv set up. thanks

Probably not. Freeview signals are hundreds of times weaker than the old analogue signals, so will show up every single problem on a badly maintained, badly installed old external tv aerial.

In most areas, a tv set-top aerial is a waste of time and even a loft aerial may have problems. Any aerial system which is not direct from the external aerial to the tv can also suffer problems, as each Y-splitter and joint wastes an awful lot of signal.

Your fix is to get a proper modern aerial system fitted. If it's well designed and installed with the proper parts and cabling (does not necessarily mean most expensive) then it should last for another 30 or so years and ideally won't need signal amplifiers.

Note that although your neighbour gets reception, he probably suffers regular picture break-up, freezing and /or pixellation especially in poor weather unless the aerial was in top condition beforehand and was relatively modern.

Picture and sound break up on ITV3.

You'll need to tell us what TV, set top box you have for us to help. In the meantime, check your aerial connections to make sure they are secure and try a retune after that. Often, doing a retune without the aerial connected, then a full retune with it connected does the trick; this 'flushes' old channel settings in some equipment. In my area, ITV3 is a bit iffy and I cured my problem by checking all my coax connections up to and including booster and aerial.

you could have accidently changed to external monitor with Fn +F(the number is 8 on my comp but could be 5 on yours-check keys on top of the keyboard it has a picture rectangle / little TV), anyways to check that attach external monitor to your laptop(must have a VGA cable) if you have a picture on external monitor try Fn + F(depends on what you have on ur keyboard) it should bring you a window with choices to choose laptop LCD or external LCD choose 1st one .
hope that is it.

I want to add a DVD recorder into my TV set up

If I'm right On the DVD recorder there should be an aerial input and an output. Connect external aerial to the output then run a second from the output to the TV. Then use the HDMI to connect the DVD. This will then give you the option of recording one channel on the DVD whilst watching another thru the receiver thats built into the TV. You will then get the best poss picture when viewing DVD
