Fisher Paykel does not stand by their product and it would be much cheaper and resolve your problem to go and buy another new unit asap.

Try unplugging the unit for an hour and replugging it back in. If that doesn't work go to http://fisherpaykelparts.net/techhelp/fisher-paykel-top-load-dryers-us-models/ This forum may help you through your problem. Passed that while you were gone you could of had a power surge that burned the electronic out. If that's the case time your can replace some of the electronics.

HI,
The PCB unit ie the control panel circuit board has gone bad. The probable cause of the same is moisture on the board.

Thanks

Just got home from vacation and hit the on button and sony kdl52xbr9 is dead. no pix (not a flicker)or sound. Pwr/on light comes on along with sony backlight, where to start ?

Start by switching off the hard power button in back or unplugging the unit for about a minute, then replug or repower and try. This helps with a variety of power and tuner issues. Hope this helps some:)

Push button to start and does not start

Your problem could be with the "push to start" switch or "door" switch.

Went to push the dial in to start and it won't

first make sure you have power to the dryer.if you have power to the dryer than put your ear to the timer and see if you hear the timer running.if the timer is running than you nead to unplug the dryer and pull the dryer away from the wall so you can remove the vent hose and the back panal and the power cord cover.next look down and to the left and you will see a white plastic thermal fuse.remove the wires from the fuse and use a meter to see if the fuse is closed.if it is not replace the fuse and replace the back and power cord cover.plug the dryer in and check unit out.

Maytag 3000 Series front load gas dryer (Whirlpool) - No lights, no digital display, not able to turn on or start. Yes, unit is plugged in to AC outlet. Yes, AC voltage is good at 120V. Yes, circuit...

OK everyone, my ears are red. Over the weekend, I gave this another shot, since my warranty repair appointment isn't until next week.

I opened the dryer door (the drum light is off, indicating no power at all) and went to the circuit breaker box, and flipped the washer/dryer breaker back to off and then re-set the breaker again.

When I got to the laundry room - the drum light was on!

So I powered up the unit, and ran the machine. It ran for about one minute, and then went off. So I went back and re-set the breaker again.

Visually, the breakers did NOT LOOK tripped - but flipping the thing off and then on to re-set the breaker worked.

This time, the dryer is working fine. The bad part is: I need to replace the breaker for the second time. So this is NOT a defective dryer, it is a bad electrical supply. I will call the electrician back to make him fix this right. . . . .

Thanks again for all who responded. This is a new unit, purchased on 7/7/2009.

Dryer wont start - no lights

Dryer door does not think it is closed. There is a sensor on the top of the door that is probably not making contact with the door. Trying pushing the top part of the door and holding it then press the start button.. if the unit starts running then you know what it is. I just had one of these dryers delivered today and had to find out about this by myself tonight!!

Garage door went on "vacation"

Try to remove the power cord. Be careful if you have to climb a ladder! Reinsert.
Here are instructions for vacation mode:
If you have a three buttom wall panel, one of the small buttons should be the lock button, push this button and hold it for a couple of seconds until the LED on the wall panel stops blinking.

Good Luck!

Will start and run, but no heat.

These units have two circuit breakers...generally hooked up in tandem. It is always possible that the heater element is out. Sometimes they open a breaker when they fail. If you see a wiring diagram on the back of the unit and are handy with a multimeter...available at the hardware store...you can trace this out. Remember to turn off the power if you do.
