My computer acer aspire 1520 starts but screen stays black.

Hi. My Acer 5536 is not start & the screen is seems block, also the hard light is not working. Only set start light is shinning. What wana do?

you ether need a new video card or your computer is infected

start up the computer and while its running, hold a flash light to the screen. If you can see any graphics on the screen, your lcd converter burned out. If you can seen nothing, its possible that the back light lamp burned out and the best option would be to replace the screen altogether

go to acer website ...go to dowloads section..select ur model ..n download latest bios

This is probably a hardware issue with the monitor. Just to make sure, uninstall, and reinstall the monitor's driver. If that doesn't fix it, it's a hardware issue.

You will have to either take it to a shop, or contact the manufacturer (your computer should be under warranty if you've had it for less than a year).

It sounds like video card problem. Bring it to a repair shop.

It's look like your laptop have a problem called "NO POST".
motherboard, cpu or memory can cause this problem.
To diagnose it, reseat your memory first and after that turn it on.
if it still no post.
use only 1 memory and turn it on, if still same,
Try to move your memory and seated to different slot and turn it on. if it still same, it's mean your motherboard/cpu is bad.
