Did you mean model LCT2701TD?

If so, you can find the repair manual at:

I had the same problem... It's the main board. Unfortunately they're pretty scarce these days. You can try to get a Viore mainboard, but you're either have to make a 3.3v ttl serial cable, or desolder the flash from the akai board and put it on the viore board (the two tv's use different pdp's). The 1st option is a little less intense.

SOURCE: AKAI PDP4206EA 42" DARK PICTURES ON COMP 1 AND 2. BLACK AND WHITE ON COMPOSITE. TUNER NOT TUNNING CABLE CHANNELS. ONLY LOOKS GOOD THROUGH VGA. WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE?

I'm pretty sure it's the main board. You'll need to get a new one. Hopefully you have better luck at finding one.

SOURCE: Akai PDP4206EA lost tuner and video inputs

Mine died after a brown out. It turned out to be the main board. They're pretty hard to find.

Akai projection tv has static in it but it goes in and out with the static sound and picture

If it does not do it via the rear audio and video jacks (a DVD etc) problem may be a bad tuner or even a bad connection on the cable wire or fitting at rear of set--move the cables at connection points with set on to see if a reaction.

If not from DVD etc there is a way around this issue.

There are several defects that can cause that problem One .the tV tuner could be defective Two the processor IC might not be processing the tuner signal Three. the circuit that receives the signal when it leaves the processor IC have some shorted components. You would have explore all of those possabilities in an effort to solve your problem.

Tuner problem?

This is an indication of a bad ground connection. Since you have replaced the cable and splitter, it suggests an internal grounding problem. If you can solder and can get to the tuner, resolder the ground points within the tuner and update this with the results.

Picture in picture problem

When you use the Time Warner Digital box, you're using the tuner inside that box rather than the tuner inside your TV to select a channel. Picture in picture TV's have two tuner's inside so you can view two channels, but they can only tune the analog channels from your cable company, and only if it's hooked up in a manner that will permit this to happen.

So you only have one digital tuner (the Time Warner Box) so you can only view one channel at a time even though your TV supports Picture in Picture.

It MAY be possible to have limited use of the PIP if you connect your TV in a different way. Your Time Warner box is most likely connected to your TV set with composite cables, those are the Yellow, Red, White cables. If you buy a coaxial cable splitter and split the cable before it goes into the Time Warner box you can then run a coax cable into both the Time Warner box and the coax input on your TV. This would allow you to tune the analog Time Warner channels with both of your TV's tuners. In my area I think the first 60 channels or so are still available in analog, but there is no way to watch any of the higher premium channels without the Time Warner box.

If you go through these steps and you select the coax input on your TV your PIP will work on the lower channels. It MAY be possible to tell your TV to display the input from the composite cables on one of the PIP screens and the input from the coax on the other, but I kind of doubt it.

I know this sounds complicated and if you're not familiar with the way all this works it is complicated. The reason lots of people won't respond to this kind of question on this site is because there is no easy fix and by trying to help I run the risk of getting a bad rating. I don't get paid for this, I just like trying to help, so if I have not explained this in a way that's helpful to you please ask some additional questions before you give me a bad rating. Thanks.

If you can direct signal to A / V inputs as you are doing with your

check for a bad solder at the the tuner section or within the tuner . Bad solder ground within the tuner can cause this fault
