Question about NAD Audio Players & Recorders
If your cd player gets older there can be a timing problem by several causes like a slipping belt, or a dirty mode select switch somewhere or a microswitch that is not functional by the slipping belt too long time to take the cd to inside and push up the platter and mechanic to give the focussing of the laser to read the table of contents on the cd , that the cause in 90% microswitch cleaning by contact spray under the tray and on the beginning point wheren the laser begins its start cycle to focussing and give a turning respond to the spindle motor thereis a little microswitch it pushed in or an other switchable point also under or near the cd tray another where the detection is the start that the cd tray is closed and the laser start to focussing on the cd surface and give the cd a turn for the toc and then when its timed correct it recognized and displayed the track position highest priority is that rubber belt that driven the tray and the 2 or 3 microswitches or contacts you should find what have functions in the intake traject. in a short time all together. little suggestion whats meaning Denon DCD815 CD Player disk tray wont open or copy this link

SOURCE: Every CD is skipping
If the cleaning cd does not work, try unplugging the player, taking the back cover off and manually cleaning the lens with cotton wool or cotton buds. If there is a stubborn smear on the lens, try methylated spirits on the cotton wool. Please note the following: Don't lose any screws You may need to take additional pieces of metal or plastic off to get at the lens; do not lose these or the screws that hold them and make sure they go back in the right order DO NOT TOUCH THE LENS WITH YOUR HANDS OR ANYTHING NOT CONSISTING OF COTTON WOOL OR METHYLATED SPIRITS! The lens will be quite fragile-do not apply excessive pressure Ensure everything goes back together the way it was, minus dust and dirt. hope this helps. stoodleysnow P.S. You can get methylated spirits at a local hardware or diy shop, or occasionally art shop.

SOURCE: Not Recognising a CD
I had the same problem with my C541 player, I solved it simply cleaning the lens area with cotton swabs. No other "no disc" fake messages so far... good luck! Luca - Rome (Italy)

SOURCE: PD-H300 not recognising CD's
FOLLOWING ON FROM MY REPORTED PROBLEM I WAS DETERMINED TO FIX IT.
I REMOVED THE OUTER CASE ( AFTER UNPLUGGING THE UNIT ) AND WET CLEANED THE LENS WITH METHATED SPIRIT. THAT CURED THE DISC RECOGNITION PROBLEM BUT THE MOTOR WAS NOT STARTING EVERY TIME.
VERY CAREFULLY I MANAGED TO GET A LITTLE WD40 ON THE MOTOR SHAFT AND HEY PRESTO IT NOW WORKS OK EVERY TIME.
HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE.
