Cd will not open

Hello,
You have two possible issues:
1. Defective hardware part
2. Outdated driver

To isolate the problem, I suggest that you try playing a known good CD. If it's not going to work, then install RadarSync and scan your computer with it. It would tell you if you have an outdated driver in the computer. Update the drivers.

It is not starting up

Hi,

Good day. I suggest for you to reinstall windows and use the repair options. Usually software encounter errors or some files might get corrupted causing your computer not to boot up properly. The repair option in Windows XP will help you to fix those issue. here are the steps to follow:

1. Rule out hardware issues. Windows Repair will only fix software problems. Hardware issues can also cause boot problems (i.e. bad hard drive, memory, CPU, or power supply).

2. Backup. It's always a good idea to backup your important data before making changes to Windows XP. Relax, if you follow these instructions your data will be perfectly safe.

3. Boot from your Windows XP CD. Insert the Windows XP CD into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer. When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message appears on the screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

4. A blue screen will appear and begin loading Windows XP Setup from the CD.

5. When completed loading files, you will be presented with the following "Windows Setup" screen, and your first option. Select "To set up Windows XP now, press ENTER". DO NOT select Recovery Console.

6. Then press F8 to continue

7. Next, Windows Setup will find existing Windows XP installations. You will be asked to repair an existing XP installation, or install a fresh copy of Windows XP.

8. Then just choose repair option to repair your Windows Xp

9 Then it should work. If iin any case that will not solve the issue, you might try to install fresh copy on Windows Xp

Hope this information will help you resolve your issue. Have a great day.

Hello there I have tried everything to recuperate ' system restore' on Vista home basic (start up repair, sfc scannow, safe mode) but nothing works; I don't want to do a complete system repair as...

Start>Click on the start search box>type system restore and check on the top if any option like system restore is coming or not. if u see that right click on that option and click on run as adminstrator. it might ask for ur permission. Allow it.

How to upgrade window vista to window 7

Upgrade is not suggested,
I would prefer you to install a fresh copy of Win7 on another partition on your PC's harddrive using a Win7 install CD or from a medium (Harddisk, USB device etc)

Why, because your Vista is in perfect working conditon I guess so, so why spoil it.
Many of the hardwares you use in your PC currently (like printer, webcam etc) work fine now.
But when you install Win7 they will need new drivers for it to function perfeclty and I am sure you'll have diffculty locating them.

So i suggest you keep your exisiting Vista and keep using it for your day to day work.
Install Win7 on a new partition and try to get used to it while installing all required drivers and softwares for them to function.
Once your Win7 is perfect then you can slowly SUNSET Win Vista.

hello there!!

I suggest that you should first try using other brands of CD/DVD -RW and if still doesn't work, check your CD/DVD drive/player from your laptop or pc. And you can buy a new set. (more practical)

Reformatting problem

Do you mean that you are re-loading windows? if you are when it reboots after re-loading and it says boot/start with cd-rom support do not press enter again or anything else for that matter because if you do it will keep taking you through the whole process again. Once it has loaded and reboots do not press anything it will start windows( even though it gives you the option to start with cd-rom support - just ignore it), itself and take you to the welcome screen etc... once this happens you can take the disk out.
