Re: broken screen question
I'm sorry, that is a broad question because the answer may differ from brand to brand and from one model to another. If you contact an authorized service center, one of their technicians may be able to answer this. Just remember that once you replace the screen you should fine tune the convergence for optimum picture quality.

No,not repairable, because the front screen panel are 90% of the tv,sorry ur tv now,it only can be salvage for electronic boards for parts, that it.The tv screen panels are only can be purcharse from the tvs corporation themselves. They'll charge u the screen panel the same priced as new tv.Because the tv screen panels are in limited production and 90% improtant to the tv,that why.
place your head onto the carpet and look up. you'll see two large black thumbscrews near either end of the front panel (just below the screen). turn them counter-clockwise. no force is needed. when they pop loose,
you can gently jimmy the front panel loose. no force is needed
This sounds like the front panel assembly(FPA) switches are acting up. What happens with this model is the FPA switches start to conduct just as if someone was pressing the buttons. This in effect locks up the system control or causes it to do erratic things. The way to determine if the FPA is bad is to remove it by unplugging from set. This requires front panel disasembly. Note:The remote will still work with the FPA removed so the set can be tested. Also double check that the remote is not the problem by removing it from the room or removing the batteries Let me know if you need more help or info.
Lamp inside TV is broken and requires replacement. Pop sound was its breaking sound. Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual, pretty easy. Please buy Sony original lamp for TV safety and avoid aftermarket/ cheap lamp. Let me know if you need to download user manual copy. Thanks.
I see this alot at the shop common problem... the front conrtrol buttons have become damaged. you need to replace it. You can remove the front panel and leave it out until you can get the front keyboard cuicit board. Just use your remote to control the tv. to remove the board just remove the front middle panel via the t20 torx screws. then unplug the connector. You can get a new cuicit board via union electonics... you need the entire model number...r52wh73 yx1 or yx2 something like that it is in small letters on the same label as the large model number, Let me know if you need any more help on this repair.
I don't have a listing for your exact model, but the front glass for a similar model runs about $325. Is the front protective glass broken or is the LCD panel itself broken. If the LCD panel is damaged then you are looking at over $1000 for the replacement.
I WOULD NEED TO GET THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR THAT. YOU CAN CALL RCA THEY CAN TELL YOU. IF YOU WANT TO REPLACE IT I THINK YOU CAN GET A PIECE OF PLEXI GLASS FROM LOWES OR HOME DEPOT. IF YOU MEASURE IT TO THE 1/8" THEY CAN CUT IT FOR YOU.
