Went into Personalization on my laptop. Changed name and destop theme, but did not select password. I accidentally took the x off of the "log me in automatically" tab. Now when I start the unit, I need a password and can't log in. Tried going in to set up as well as hitting the F9 key to restore settings. No go. Is there a password I can use to get in?

GuruI think that invictus is referring to windows on eee whereas karlS is referring to the linux operating system eeexandros...
The best option would be to restore factory settings and reload your eee pc. This is extremely easy and takes less than 2 mins. When you turn on your eee pc hold down the F9 key, it will then present you with an option to redtore to factory settings, this will wipe all data and douments and passwords. Follow what it tells you to do and then when you restart your eee pc it will ask you for a name and password like it did when you first got it.

GuideTry starting your unit in Safemode. Most configurations when started on safe mode has only the Administrator as the displayed user on it. And that user is seldom equipped with password. If you're successful, go USER ACCOUNTS and manage the different accounts in your computer. Create another account and give it an administrator privilege. If you want to create a password for such account, make sure to remember it. Reboot and log-in to the account you just created and restart making the personalization you wish.
