I was wondering if lightening zapped our transformer outside and we were without power for 13 hours, is there any way that the lightening sent a surge to the fridge and would have shorted it out.
I can here it running

100 to 1 odds the capacitor got zapped when the power went off.Top of the capacitor where the wires connect should be flat. A lightening strike will cause it to be puffed up.
Outside unit has a low pressure switch to prevent it running when there is not enough freon to carry the oil needed to lubricate it.
A lightening strike or other power surge may zap the capacitor. The top where the wires connect should be flat ,when zapped it will be puffed up. To replace the capacitor turn the power off. Black on common, blue or purple on fan
Less than 10 years old most likely problem is the capacitor. A lightening strike near by or other power surge can zap it. At any age if a new capacitor doesn't fix it and it's wired right the motor is probably bad.
1. let the battery fully discharged without connecting to power supply,
2. remove memory card
3. remove battery
4. remove sim card
5. insert the sim card
6. do not insert the memory card
7. reset the battery
8. connect to power for charging for 24 hours
9. switch on and it will work
I will say that this part is shorted if it measures continuity on all the leads regardless on how you tested.
Was this mosfet nearby the power supply circuitry?
You can also check the horizontal output transistor that is mounted on a heatsink near the flyback transformer.
repair the transformers,,,using a digital voltmeter when both transfrormer are good the measure like 56 ohms, if one is good and the other is bad is gonna measure like 120 ohms , if both are damage it will measure nothing, all this with the switch in its on stage.
If you dont find anyone that can repair the transformers buy them.
I have a similar unit - KitchenAid wall mounted stainless steel stove hood (model KWCU285HSS). Please let me know if you figure out how to open the thing/canopy up. I'm trying to get into the area above the florescent light & starter.
