check your smps and the raid status if you have created any raid in the server....

Hi,
Once the operating system is installed its quite difficult to create a partition . One way is to create is via a Third Party software like Partition Magic.

You need a database program - Microsoft SQL, MySql, Access, etc... Setting up RAID will help your speed.

open it up and see. there should be markings showing scsi card etc., if none, then it is not onboard . get one scsi card.

I know ATA disks are cheaper , but they don't last as long or are less reliable.

I do not recommend mixing SCSI and ATA .

Use one or the other , not both.

Do not try , unless your server is non critical.
If it is non critical , why bother with server , a PC will do as well.

the proliant 1600 is old , not worth repairing or fixing.
get a new one , cheap , faster , better and with fast ethernet too.

Try to update the firmwares. Maybe the threeshould of the fans are incorrect. A new firmware can correct this problem.
