SOURCE: Kelvinator Stove Power Cable Connection

You should unscrew the small back panel, on the undercover should be a scetch of the wiring.
If not the three red are live, black is neutral and the g/y is earth, from number 5 to 1 connect as follows: 5 and 4-black,3,2,1 red and look for a screw type fitting or green wires to connect earth.
Its important to connect earth before operating the stove as it cuold lead to serious injury if not connected.
Hope this helps

We bought an electric dryer from sears outlet

220 Cords are usually color coded - BLACK, WHITE, RED, GREEN for Ground. Inside the dryer where you connect the wires should be the same colors. Just put the Black with the Black and so on. Make sure the plug is for a dryer and not a stove.

3 wire cook top to a 4 wire outlet

Older 3 wire connectors where Wht=Neutral Ground Return, Red=One Phase Hot, Blk=Second Phase Hot, of 220VAC stove connections.

Newer Electrical code standard has a forth wire that is bare copper for a separate safety ground return.
I suggest you but a 4 wire pig tail cable for your stove top, available at Depot or Lowes, and connect 3 wires of this 4 wire cable just like the 3 wires are now connected. The 4th bare copper safety is attached to any metal part of the stove. Find a screw you can loosen to wrap it around and tighten.

Essentially, you need a 220 volt hookup kit from any hardware store. Match the plug to your outlet. Several styles are out there. There are three wires in the cable. Knock out one of the holes in the box on the oven. Install a strain relief for the cord into the hole and clamp on the cord. Generally, they're in the kit. The Red and Black wires are 'hot' and white is neutral. The connections are labeled on the stove. Make sure your connections are neat and tight.
