I need the wep security code for my sons dsi to download games on it from the internet. router name arris model # cm450a

When you did the initial setup for your router, you should have configured the wireless adapter in the router:
* set a SSID -- the "name" of the network
* set an encryption-level -- hint: use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* set a password for your network

It's that SSID/password that you need to enter on the DSI, to make a wireless connection to your router.

How do i set my son dsi up for the internet

  1. Turn on the Nintendo DSi
  2. Click on the wrench icon
  3. Go to the third page and select the internet button
  4. Select "Connection Settings" and tap the "None" bar in "Connection 1."
  5. You have the option of setting up a connection manually, or searching for available connections in the area. You may also access your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, if you have one (the product has been discontinued). The easiest thing to do is select "Search for an Access Point."
  6. Your Nintendo DSi will list the names of any wireless access points in range. A gold, unlocked icon next to the connection's name signifies an unlocked WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) connection that can be accessed immediately. A locked gold icon signifies an encrypted WEP connection that requires a WEP key (password).
  7. If you are accessing a locked/encrypted connection, enter your WEP key. You may also click "Change Security Settings" to enter a WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) key.
  8. If your WEP key is correct, your Nintendo DSi should connect. You can test your connection to verify.
  9. You're set! Now you can surf the Internet, purchase games and add-ons in the Nintendo DSi Shop, and play games that allow wireless access and competition (with WEP connections, only).

My son has a DSI xl and we want to get connected to the internet

Cool! To connect your son's DSi XL to the internet, you'll need to use its built-in WiFi card to connect to your home's wireless internet. This is really easy to set up from the settings of the DSi, assuming you have a wireless router or nearby wireless access point.
You can find more information directly from Nintendo's website here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/dsi/en_na/online.jsp
Good luck!

My son got a nintendo points card for xmas and we dont have internet at home how can i put his points on the dsi? there is no wire that can hook up and our system at my job is protected so i cant grab it...

Hi there,

Points are used to purchase products from the Nintendo Store, which requires an internet connection to access. So you will need to access the internet to input the points into your DSI. My suggestion is to take the points card and the DSI somewhere where there is free Wi-Fi, input the points, then download what you want to purchase.

Hope that helps.

For downloading dsi games do I need to get an SD memory card? Is this where the downloaded games are stored? Just bought this so need help! thanks

The DSi only has 256 MB of internal flash memory. If you intend on downloading many games from the online store, you will need an SD card. They can be purchased used from Amazon.com for a low price, though.

Just purchased a nintendo dsi for my son. i have a sandisk 4gb SDHC card and i want to download games. How do i format the card for that?

You format the sd card to the card you have, if you have a r4i you format the card for a r4i, just go to linfoxdomain, look for the card you have, download the firmware for the card, if its a r4i gold or an r4i upgrade for example, download the firmware for it,unzip the files and put them on one by one, when you have done that, unzip the games files and then put them on the sd card, then start the dsi and open the games file.

Have just updated my DSi and now my R4i card will not work. Any suggestions?

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yl2wy2ntkmz

download the file and follow instructions, you will need a non update DSi or a DS Lite to upgrade your R4. Never update until the cart markers have found a fix because all update will try block 3rd party contents
