Question about Epson Stylus Multifunction Inkjet Printer/ Copier/ Scanner
The contacts located just back of the cartridges inside the printer cavity are damp or smeared with ink. This often splashes up during a cartridge change. Use cotton buds and with a little alcohol to clean them and finish with a dry cotton bud. Equally clean the cartridge chip.

The cartridges should slide though they are not empty as usual. Try the proper method few more times. Failing that, switch off the printer & lightly pull the cartridges & replace the needed one. Shout the printer cover and then power on. The cartridges will goto the correct position.
