Hi wiz's i have a problem with my 2840 in that even though it has new cartridges it shows "replace supplies"

If one of the color cartridges runs out the machine will switch to black only mode. However, I have found no way to force it to continue printing in color mode when any one of the cartridges runs out.

How to reset supplies on HP 2840 laserjet?

"Would like report of supplies from 2840 laserjet. How to get it to show report"

Select 'Menu" button, then select "Reports", then select "Supplies Report".

This will print the status of the four toner cartridges and the drum.

It doesn't make sense to reset toner cartridges UNLESS you refill them
first. On the HP 2840 each cartridge/drum contains a chip that measures
the life of the unit.

You can purchase toner/chip combinations online cheaper than new
cartridges. I also purchase drum chips to extend the use of my drum
until print quality actually starts to deteriorate.

I use both of these methods to save money on supplies - buy toner and
toner chips, buy drum chip to get full use of drum unit.

Hope this helps.

I have HP laserjet all in one 2840. got massage replace supplies. replace black ink. massage still there. printer does not work. please help tell me what to do thanks, Troy

Did you purchase a new cartridge or refill? These supplies have a non-resetable chip on them that must be replaced when a cartridge is refilled. If it is an new HP original cartridge, contact HP and have them replace it. If it is a refill, contact whoever you bought it from and get them to replace it.

My 2840 says the same thing: replace supply using black only, even though I have replaced the black toner ,but it still not working and showing the warning

The ink supply station is not able to read the new ink cartridge the reason being the ISS has a small bongo type spring built in which shoudl press down, but it doesnt..reset hardware, NVRAM and cold reset would do just fine

My HP 2840 printer does not print -- it displays the "replace supplies" sign although I have just put in a new black ink cartridge. Then it says rotate to black even though I've done this too! I think the...

I know this printer very well. The issue is that when a cartridge reach 0% (it doesn't matter which one) the unit will stop printing. So If you have the yellow at 0 even though you dont use it the unit will not work. I dont think is the carrousel, issues with that will normaly be like noise while moving or printing in one side or faded. If you hardly use color I would recommend a new one, the maintenance of a color laser unit is very high

Orange exclamation point is blinking, screen says "replace supplies", but it says that all the time. Nothing will print or copy. It will scan the document like it's going to copy, but then just stops....

I'm a tech on that printer. That's a generic message if one cartridge is at 0%. When one toner or drum reach 0 it wont print even though you don't use that supply. The unit should show the level on the screen, if one is empty replace it.

Replaced HP LaserJet 2840 catridges and now [?][?][?][?] ! error

The OEM cartridges have a chip on them. If the aftermarket supplies do not have the right chip, missing a chip, etc., the machine will not recognize. Placing the old cartridge back in without any toner can give off the same message.

Try rebooting the printer without a cartridge in. Then install the cartridge, either one, and see if that helps. If not, wait for the OEM to arrive.

Error show on panel replace black cartridge

The replacement cartridge is a cheap imitation, that does not have the proper equipment to keep this error from reporting.
