By any chane a liquid has spilled over your keyboard? it's kinda hard to dismantle that keyboard. but it can be done. i wonder only how it could get sticky as you described. i am from yamaha service before and i have seen the mechanicsm of clavinova, it should not go like that except if you had spilled something on it.

The keys on my CPL130 piano are intermittently failing to sound the c's and f sharps. All the other notes appear to be OK. what could be the problem and what might be the remedy. Have had the piano for...

well..that is caused by one of three things

a. the sound board(really a digital one) could have some glitches on those keys.

b. the tone recognition firmware, which looks for particular 'keys' may need to be revised and updated

c. is it the case that all 'C' and F# are bad, then it's most likely digital and not mechanical..

please confirm actual failure mode..

I need the RCA Blue Ray rtb1203 Remote Control code for a Direct tv Remote

Hello,
You don't need a code when programming a Direct TV remote. Try following these steps. The process take a few minutes but it works -
  • Turn on your Blue-Ray and put in a disk.
  • Switch the mode to which ever input the Blue-Ray is using.
  • Hold down the "mute" and "select" button at the same time until the green light begins to flash then release.
  • On the keypad enter the numbers 9-9-1 followed by Satellite, TV, VCR/DVD, Aux,
  • Press the power button or which ever function you wish to use for you Blue_Ray such as play for the VCR.
  • Point the remote at you Blue-Ray and slowly press the "channel" and "key" button together until the remote turns off. Do this slow enough so as not to pass up the right code.
  • Once the remote turns off then you have found the correct code.
  • Press and release the select key to lock that code in.

Please note that if you cycle through all the codes and your remote does not turn off and the red light flashes three times then the code you need for your Blue-Ray is not available with that remote. At that point another remote would need to be used.
Regards, Tony

The middle c of my sx-k700 Technics keyboard is not working. How can i fix it?

Clean the area around the affected key. Use a damp cloth to clean the surface of the key (and surrounding keys) and then use a dry cotton swab to clean under the stuck key. Be careful not to pry the stuck key up with the cotton swab, as this could break the stuck key.
Press firmly on the stuck key. Sometimes after small dust or particulates are removed, the stuck key will pop back into place. However, if this is not the case, continue on with Step 3.
Pull out the fingernail cleaner extension of your fingernail clippers. This is the flat extension with a little hook on the end. Place the small hook under the left corner of the stuck key. A common reason that keys get stuck is that the collapsible spring becomes off-center. Gently push the key from side to side until it clicks into place. If this does not happen, you will need to disassemble the key completely.
Lift the top part of the key with the fingernail cleaner. You will see a collapsible plastic hinge (this is known as the Key Retainer) as well as a little rubber piece. Take both of these out. You will see a flat surface. Run the cotton swab across this surface to remove any dust.
Place the key components back in the keyboard. Place the rubber part on top of the metal circle you just cleaned with the cotton swab. Then place the key retainer (big side down) on top of it, and "click" it into place. It is very important to be careful with this step as these small parts break easily. Then place the stuck key on top of these parts and then give it a solid tap to click it into place. Your key should work now.

Zone 2 volume control

Sounds like the Zone 2 amp was set to external, see below for instructions on setting it back up.
How do I setup Zone 2 on the RX-V661 Using the internal power amp.

Setting the RX-V661 remote control to operate Zone 2
1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the Code set
button. The Transmit indicator on the remote should flash twice.
2. Using the numerical key pad on the remote and key in 9992, the
Transmit indicator should flash.

You will now need to assign the receivers internal amp for Zone 2.

1. Set the remote control selector to AMP. Selector is on side of remote.
2. Press the Set Menu Button.
3. Arrow down to Manual Setup.
4. Press the Enter button.
5. Arrow to the Sound Menu option and press Enter.
6. In the Sound Menu arrow to Speaker Set and press Enter.
7. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2. This may require using LEFT or RIGHT arrow.
8. Press the Return button to exit out and return to the Manual
Setup.

I have a Roland HP2e digital piano and one of the keys has lost its touch sensitivity. It works initially but when it passes a certain threshold of loudness when played it goes to full volume on that key...

Just managed to fix key loudness problem on my sister's HP-2E after talking to the local Roland Service Center. Basically I had to remove all the rubbery strips under the keyboard, clean them and clean all the contacts on the keyboard PCBs with CO contact cleaner. Not a trivial procedure - 80 or so screws to remove and replace and a lot of parts.
It has completely solved the problem (apparently its not unusual on any keyboards). I have posted more details and a couple of pictures on my blog (http://web.me.com/iain_sommerville/Home/IainBlog/Entries/2009/4/20_Piano_Repair_2nd_Attempt.html not sure if that is a permalink - if it doesn't work go to http://sommerville.info and search for HP-2e).
A roland service center can fix this as well however it is pretty time consuming so they will charge you. They can also sell you replacement keyboard contact strips if cleaning them doesn't work. Hope this helps

P-200 piano some keys are louder than others

Hi there marklyster

The keys are all touch sensitive. Generally speaking, there is not alot to go wrong in this area. They key contacts may be dirty creating the problem you have.

The keys are not as heavily weighted in the treble cleft on this model, could this be causing the problem. If it is certain keys that are affected, then I would suspect a contact problem. You may need to have the keyboard serviced.

regards
Graeme
