Question about HP LaserJet P3005n Printer
Hi

The formatter board in the printer is faulty. The heat from the chips softens the soldier and makes the joints bad causing all types of misleading errors.
To solve the problem you can try two differant methords, both will endevour to melt the soldier joints back to good.

Slide the right hand cover to the back of the printer and remove.

Open metal door to see formatter board

Disconnect the three wires from the top left of board, they only go in one way so you do not need to mark them.

Undo the screws around the board and pull the board free.

Using a hot air paint stripper heat up the reverse side of the board applying plenty of heat to the soldier joints

Reasemble

Do a cold restart and away it should go.

Alternative to the hot air gun you can but the board in the oven.
Trust me on this one it will survive.

Support the board at the edges on small blocks of wood to stop it from touching the pan

Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees
(soldier melts around 165)

Put the board in for eight minutes and then remove, let cool befour touching.

Reasemble

Do a cold restart and the printer should work.

Chris

THE DIMM is a memory module that has either dislogged ( moved the unit recently?) or is damaged. Check the integrity of the Memory module by unseating and reseating first . If that fails to fix it get a new module.
