Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

Sansa having problem with sync

My sansa is having trouble syncing songs with the media player 10. See, I tried to format the device but it didn't erase all the songs it left songs that i can't erase although I try and try.....Could it be a virus the passed to my device? I can't sync songs without media player telling me it has encounter problems and another problem, i picked a song so the device could playe it but after seconds it would change to another song but then in the screen i would appear the name of the song I chosed..... Any ideas??? Anyway to solve the problem?

    by window media player! but how could I really format my device? I know i need to put it mass storage but then?

    well I tried to scan it for any viruses but no, i couldn't it said that the files were corrupt, if i may add, all the music,photos, vieos, reocordings are erased, the only files there are the system files and some files that won't erase no matter what....... see, i have corrupted file hot repair them??

    Try to format on MSC mode and let me know what happen..TO change to MSC go under tools, setting and usb mode...click on my computer and then the sansa should show as a removeable storage...

    Right click and click on format..

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Sansa 250 MP3 won't sync songs from my windows media player.


What you need to do is to format the device and try to transfer the songs..there could be an error with the device certificate...

Having trouble downloading.


You have to use Windows Media Player to transfer songs from your computer to the Sansa. If the songs are already on your computer, then you are good to go. Just open up Windows Media Player, click on the sync tab, and then drag files to the sync area, and click Start Sync. If the songs are not already there, do yourself a favor - only sign up to a music service that gives you the songs in mp3 format. WMA's are too problematic, and will lead you to ask a million questions and deal with a million problems. Stick to Mp3 format only, and you should be good to go.

Can't remove Rhapsody songs


Delete them through Windows Media Player or reformat the device:

Can't delete songs


In your windows media you will see the device name listed..you have to make sure the device is under MTP mode..then click on the player and you will see all the songs...you can just right click on the songs and delete them..if you dont want the device to sync automatically you can click on sync and then click on the device name and click on sync setting..there you can modify if you want it to sync automatically..

Half full, no files on device


Reformat the player and try again. You can look at the tips and Tricks in my profile to find out how to format an mp3 player.
There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

Make sure the songs do not have DRM encryption, and that they are the right format (mp3, wma) for the player.

Hey, sansa problem with media player 10


Try formatting the player again.
When you open windows media player it is probably showing the songs that you have on your computer not the songs currently on your sansa.

Unable to sync music


What happened when you tried to sync? it could be a device certificate error...what i would recommend you to do is to sync using your windows media player...assuming that you have windows media player 11...open up your windows media player and click on sync..then you can drag the tracks you want to sync and then click on start sync...if you are not able to transfer the songs to it..use a song that is not from yahoo like the sample one that came with your computer and see what happen...if that doesnt solve the problem check your usb mode..it should be under MTP mode or auto....then open up your windows media player and format the device there...after you have done that..that should solve the problem you are having..let me know what the outcome is....

Do you use windows media player 10 or 11 to sync music into the mp3 player? and have you updated firmware? Go to sansa.com and download a firmware updater and then try formatting the mp3 player, use WM and click on the arrow below sync and go to format.
