If your keyboard is not connectting then the fault is with the hardware in the keyboard. First of all check the battery of the keyboard if bad replace after cleaning the terminals. if the fault stays, then open the screws on the keyboard and check for power lines break to the board, It is possible that the controller IC is faulty but normally the IC is not available for changing unless you have to check with an semiconductor hardware dealer. If not the keyboard as a whole needs to be changed , I am sure the prices have dropped considerably so take different quotes in case a replacement is needed. Hope you check this out. Good day

Emachine keyboard not working

Hi Lore,
Try to reseat the keyboard connection from your computer. Check for lights indicator on the keyboard . To isolate if the keyboard is really not working try using a spare keyboard (if available).
If you are using a keyboard with USB connection, then try connecting it to other USB ports on your computer then restart your computer.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

DENNIS

Disable inspiron 1525 keyboard

Step 1:
Dell sells technology such as computers, computer peripherals and consumer electronics to both consumers and businesses. Dell sells both wired and wireless keyboards and mice that are compatible with Dell and other computer systems. Dell wireless keyboards may encounter hardware, software or other problems under certain conditions.

Power Dell wireless keyboards transmit data to the Dell USB receiver, which in turn passes the data to the computer's operating system. The keyboard gets power from two AA batteries. As the batteries lose charge, the keyboard's transmissions can become intermittent. Replacing the old batteries with fresh ones will ensure consistent communication and resolve the power issue. b> Interference Dell wireless keyboards operate best and are least susceptible to interference when the user places them at the recommended distance from the USB receiver. The distance, specified in the keyboard's accompanying software or installation guide, varies by keyboard. Even if the user places the keyboard at the proper distance from the USB hub, metal objects between the keyboard and hub can create interference; moving objects that create the interference resolves the issue. b> Connection The Dell USB receiver that passes data from the keyboard to the computer requires proper and secure installation in a working USB port. If the receiver connects to the USB port improperly, or if the USB port to which the receiver is connected is faulty, the keyboard will not operate as expected. The user can reseat the receiver in the USB port, or connect to the receiver to a different, functioning USB port to resolve connection problems. b> Synchronization Dell wireless keyboards can broadcast at more than one frequency, just as their associated USB receivers do. If the two devices broadcast at different frequencies, they will not pass information to each other. The user can resolve this situation using the buttons labeled "Connect" on the top of the receiver and the bottom of the mouse. Pressing the buttons simultaneously triggers the synchronization process. b> System Dell wireless keyboards are compatible with most Dell systems. However, a keyboard may be incompatible with a given computer for reasons related to the computer rather than to the keyboard. To determine if this is the case, a user can connect the keyboard to a different computer. If the keyboard functions as expected with the second computer, the problem may reside in the first computer rather than in the keyboard.

Keyboard is not connected properly. Stuck key Bad keyboard Bad PS/2 or AT port Solution Keyboard is not connected properly Verify that the keyboard is connected properly to the computer by turning off your computer and then disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard to the computer. Stuck key Ensure that there are no stuck keys on the keyboard. If all keys appear to be ok and you have a standard desktop computer with keyboard, turn the keyboard over and gently hit the back of the keyboard to loosen any dirt or hair that may be stuck in the keyboard. Bad keyboard Try another keyboard on the computer to verify that the keyboard has not gone bad. Bad PS/2 or AT port If all of the above solutions are not able to resolve your issue it is likely that the port on the back of the computer may be bad and the motherboard or I/O board may need to be replaced. b>

Error 210 Stuck key 69

Hello Scott,

Make sure that there are no objects placed on the keyboard, or

if you have one, the external keyboard. Turn off the computer,

and turn off all attached devices. Turn on the computer first;
then turn on the attached devices.

If an external keyboard is connected, do the following:

v Turn off the computer and disconnect the external keyboard;

then turn on the computer. Make sure that the built-in

keyboard operates correctly. If it does, have the external

keyboard serviced.

Make sure that the external keyboard is connected to the
correct connector.
Please feel free to ask me if you any further questions or concerns.
Also please rate me if you like my answer, that helps me alot.

Thanks.

How do I connect this keyboard to the computer

Keyboards connect several ways. Older systems use a PS/2 connector (round) that plugs into the purple/gray jack on the back of the computer. The mouse plugs into the green jack next to it.
If you have a USB keyboard, it plugs into any USB slot.
PS/2 connections must be made with the computer off. USB connections work any time. If one slot doesn't work, try another.
If the keyboard doesn't work, try another.

What type of keyboard are you using? Is it a PS/2 or USB type of keyboard? If it's a PS/2 keyboard (with round purple connector), you may need to restart the computer after connecting it to the computer. But if it's a USB keyboard, there's no need to restart the computer because USB is just a Plug-n-Play device.

You need to isolate the problem. If you're using a USB keyboard, try connecting the keyboard into different USB port of thecomputer. Or try different computer to see if the keyboard is still functioning or not.

If you got the same problem after pertorming some test, it's better to consult the computer manufacturer for second opinion.

Good luck!

Keyboard loses connection to computer

Is it a usb, ps2 or wireless keyboard? your keyboard doesn't require a driver since it is a plug and play device.

If you're using a usb or wireless keyboard, then might as well update the chipset driver of your computer. If updating the chipset driver fails, they try your computer on a difference computer to see if there's a problem with your keyboard already. If another keyboard works fine with your computer then it means to say that the computer is working fine.

If you're using a wireless keyboard, changing the battery helps.
