Question about Gateway GM5084 PC Desktop

I was trying o fix my scanner and I followed some diections from hp and I somehow deleted everything off my computer and I don't have a back up. Is there anyway to get Itback. Everything is still on my computer under uninstall a program but there is no way to get to the programs.

Computer wont start, had it looked at and said that i need to get a new motherboard for it, where can i find a good motherboard to replace it and are there better ones that i can use. Gateway GM5664 style...


The only problem with putting in a different MB is the front panal connections are not seprate plus you would have to buy different RAM and possable CPU ,you can find a new or recondition MB on ebay

Hello. I was cleaning the dust out of my computer fans and somehow the little blue & white, and red & white cables came out of where the attach to the motherboard. I am looking for a diagram so...


Looking at the board with the SATA connectors to the right and the backplate to the left. Look to the lower right corner of the board. You will see a group of two rows of pins(9pins with one missing) The pin that is missing is pin#10. The pins are numbered even on the pin#10 side, odd on the other. The Power Switch - Pin 2 is the Red wire/white is Pin 4. The Power Led - Pin 6 is blue pin 8 is white.
Shhhh! Must be a Gateway Secret.

TRY TO REMOVE HARDDISK FROM GM5664 THEN INSTALL ON TO ANY OTHER PC AS SECONDARY MASTER. FROM HERE YOU CAN RECOVERY YOUR DATA . IF THIS ANSWER IS HELPFUL PLESAE RATE .

My computer mysteriously now does not show my second internal hard drive (Gateway GM5664). I tried to do a factory reset and had a power outage during the middle. I used the Windows vista OS disc that came...


Well your second hard drive did go belly up so what you need to do is get a new hard drive because from what you have explained to me it's fried. Now one other way that you can try and get it back on there is to boot up your computer but before it goes to the windows screen go into bios and select boot options and make sure that it's checked as a secondary if it already is then you need to go get a new hard drive which runs about $25.00.

Scanner not working


Please open HP director from Start - All programs - HP .

Click Scan document to scan.

You can scan by following steps :
For Windows XP:
To isolate the issue I suggest you to try scanning from the Windows Image acquisition(WIA) wizard on the computer.

Follow the below steps to Scan using WIA
1.Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.

2.Click Start then Click All Programs then Click Accessories then Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.

3.Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer.
