Press windows key + R together... type devmgmt.msc and click ok... you will see device manager... go to display adapter (double click) and make sure the device status is working properly... in the device manager you should not have question mark for any of the devices, if you have question or exclamation mark then it says that particular device  is not working properly...you need to install the drivers for that device to make it work good...

Go into control panel, click display, settings on the top right, set the color quality at max and the screen resolution also at max, click okay to save settings and monitor should adjust accordingly, if not set monitor to auto setup.

How to set your Desktop Screen Resolution?

Greetings, Welcome to Fixya!
So you need to adjust your Desktop Screen Resolution ey!!! It's a good thing you visited as today we are going to discuss just that.
We will be using our monitor to it's full potential, which will ensure we see the best picture our monitor can provide.

Follow the steps below:

1.)Right click on your desktop screen.
2.)A rectangular menu box appears.
3.)Select Properties, found right at the bottom of the menu box.
4.)Select the Settings Tab, found on the top right hand side of the window.
5.)On the bottom left hand side you will notice a slider bar under the heading Screen Resolution.
6.)Move this slider to the left to decrease the Screen resolution, less detailed, move the slider to the right to increase the Screen Resolution, more detailed.
7.)Ensure that the colour quality is set to highest, to give a more detailed and clearer picture!

Below: The window, see the slider bar on the bottom left and the colour quality on the right!

I think it is your screen resolution it needs to be increased, go through my published guide entitled How to set your Desktop Screen Resolution?

Increased resolution and colour quality will give you an excellent picture.

Have bought Dell Inspiron 15 R N 5010. But the picture quality is really poor even after 512 mb graphic card. What to do.

Try increasing the screen resolution to maximum and colour quality to higher available. See whether proper driver has been loaded. If yes try reloading it and restart and check it

In settings, I want to change from low colour to high clour 32 bit. Because everything is visible in blurred state. Windows XP.

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please do the following

1) Right click on the desktop
2) Left click on properties
3) On Display settings windo that will open up please click on the tab entitled 'settings'

Inside this tab there will be a option to change the colour resolution and colour quality (i.e. 16 bit, 32 bit etc)

If the screen is in a blurred state you may also need to change the screen resolution

I hope this helps.

Blurred vision on Monitor (unable to change resolution)

Did you tell the amchine you were uisng a Flat Screen Display ?

If you did then

The problem is more to do with your graphics card than the monitor

Go to www.belarc.com download their Belarc Advisor allow it to run on your machine and it will tell you what the graphics set up is

If it is a Plug & Play card you will have to make sure that the drivers installed are the latest for that card

If it an onboard display then the same applies only this time you go to the motherboard makers site

If the graphics drivers are not correct then the monitor will display all kinds of problems
