This might be the problem of the disk capacitor of value 2kv, which is located at the horizontal section, i.e from the collector of horizontal output transistor.

Pincushion distortion of LG 500G CRT monitor, which parts is responsable for this.


hi,
You have to check the pin control transistor in the horizontal section. It will be fitted on the same heatsik on which the horizontal output transistor is fitted.It will be a small transistor as compaired to the horizontal driver. Also you have to check the three mosfets in this section used to control the width.

first disconnect the path of EHT then check voltages if present then open H o/p transistor check it if faulty then replace it if not then EHT is faulty replace it also check IRF630 mosfet if faulty replace it

Width problem


Sometimes you will need to reinforce the whole circuit with new soldering metal as well. Mass produced circuitry sometimes uses very little of the stuff or uses soldering metal of poor quality.
