Question about Whirlpool Calypso GVW9959K Top Load Washer
Replacing the bottom rotating plate is the fix for this. I did it myself last year and we have not had a problem since. We NEVER put rugs or mophead (or similar) in this washer to protect the weak separate-drive water pump. BUT, the problem with the clothes getting grabbed is the plastic white flexible rim of the plate...its bends up. If you can see a space between the plastic edge and the inner surface of the wash tub, then you need to replace the disk. It will work...until you can save enough money to purchase a replacement for the planned-obsolescence product.

THE PLATE CAN BE REPLACED, GET ONE FROM YOUR LOCAL APPLIANCE PARTS STORE OR SEARCH ON LINE, SEARSPARTSDIRECT.COM, REPAIRCLINIC.COM, ETC. GET MESH BAGS FOR YOUR SMALL ITEMS. THAT WILL PREVENT FUTURE PROBLEMS, IE: PUMP GET STUCK AND BURN(COMMON PROBLEM)
