Question about RIM BlackBerry 8800

Unlock My 8800

I have tried twice to unlock my 8800 from At&t to use with my new SunCom Plan. I have gone to 2 unlock sites that specialize in unlocking at&t phones. Both say my IMEI was not found. Is that possible and what can I do to get it unlock if so?

Unlock 8800

There are only 2 ways to unlock your Blackberry:
1. Get an unlock code from your service provider. Usually if you have been a customer for 90 days and plan to continue as a customer, you can tell them that you are going out of the country for 2 weeks and would like to use a local pay-as-you-go service with your Blackberry. This code would be free (if they will give it to you) and will take about a week to get.
2. Pay a third party company to provide you with the unlock code. One site that is often quoted as being good is: gsmphonesource.com. You email them your IMEI number and they will email you the unlock code, usually the next day. The cost is US$50-$60.

You may be able to get the unlock code from your carrier for free. If not, then you will need to use a vendor that specializes in providing unlock codes. One such vendor that is recommended is HorizonWirelessOnline.com.
