Question about Zoom H4 Handy Recorder

Display reads "No Card"

When I turn on my Zoom H4 with a 4 GB SDHC card inserted, the display reads "No Card." I updated the software from 2.18 to 2.20 with no luck. The Zoom H4 works perfectly well with the 512 MB SD card. Does anyone have a clue on what's going on?

Thank you, bostatomica, for your reply. When I was first looking at the H4, there were sites recommending that I wait until a new improved version of the H4 came out that was able to handle 4GB cards. This was supposed to be one of them. In fact, mine came with a free 4GB card which worked for a while, but then failed. I never did figure out why it failed, but I'm presently using a 2GB card which works fine.

Zoom h4 supports cards up to 2GB. And, I'm almost sure, this is a thing that can't be upgraded through software.

I see, well, then format the card, check the manual for that, I'm not sure how to do it. You're welcome, good luck!

My lg does not read 2gb sd card.it tell me to insert a new one.Bt it can read 128 mb sd card

Your 2 Gb is not just an SD card, it is a SDHC card. The first 2Gb SD cards, still were SD, but 2Gb was the limit for the FAT 16 and 32 format and for the normal SD cards. The same happened with the hard disks. They developed the SDHC card, and made the new hardware downward compatible with the old SD cards. So in a new camera, you can insert SDXC, SDHC, SD and even MMC cards. But the cameras, card readers and phones, who were made for SD, can't use the SDHC or SDXC cards.
SDHC can work with memories up to 32 Gb and from that on, it is SDXC.
There still should be some 2Gb SD cards around, but not sure you still can fine one. The producers of memory cards now only make SDHC cards and up. Perhaps you only can get some 1Gb cards as SD card, but perhaps nobody will ever make these cards anymore.

I mannaged to buy a 4 GB SD card a few years ago, but that was the last I ever saw in the capacity. 25264488-uil2tdgcy05knvgzh4oup5lj-2-0.png

Gateway desktop can't read a sdhc 32gb memory card

well it should read it unless the reader is incapable of reading cards of that capacity.. Are you sure the card is good ? try it on another reader..

A firmware update wont be of any help there since the capacity is HARDWARE not software. If the card is good you will need to replace the reader to a newer model or acquire and external card reader.

I've bought a SDHC card 32 GB but Handy Recorder H4 do not recognize the card. I've tried to format it at the pc, but no way, the message is "no card"

Verify the device and card reader support SDHC. Try a 2g card and see if that works, typically anything 4g or larger is SDHC, older devices can not read such cards. It is quite possible that the card is bad.

Sd card not recognizable

I read the following spec for your camera: Recording Media Internal Flash Memory 64MB Video/Image
SD/SDHC Up To 32GB Video/Image
So, I think that an 8 GB SD card should work.

Try another capacity and brand to make it work.

Can't access SDHC card with Rockband 2

Unfortunately, Rock Band 2 came out before the Wii upgrade that allows the use of SDHC cards. Due to the architecture of the Wii which doesn't allow software patches to games, the Rock Band 2 game uses the old drivers that can only read non-SDHC cards.
Unless Harmonix releases a new DVD with the new drivers programmed in, we're out of luck on using SDHC cards with RB2.

How to use the memory card reader

To access the memory card reader without using the software provided, follow the steps below. If no card is inserted, the green light on the card reader will be on.
Insert a memory card.
• Insert the card with the brand name label facing up.
• If there is an arrow on the card, make sure it points toward the printer.
• If needed, make sure you connect the memory card to the adapter that came with it before inserting it into
the slot.
Wait for the light located to the right of the slots on the printer to come on. The light blinks to indicate the memory
card is being read or is transmitting data.
• The printer recognizes one memory card at a time. If you insert more than one memory card, a message appears
on the display prompting you to remove all memory cards inserted.
• If a USB flash drive is inserted together with the memory card, a message appears on the display prompting you
to choose which memory device to use.
When reading of images is complete, the number of photos found appears on the display. Then you can make your selection and print. these are the types of memory card supported by you printer.

SDHC card won't work

Your card is an SDHC, your camera supports only SD/MMC cards. I know this because i found thisp ostlooking for a way to make it accept SDHC cards, a software update could easily work in theory but someone would have to write that update. Technology changes fast doesnt it.
