Firefox pop-ups in Apple Mac Book Pro

Hello,
I don't know why but there's a pop-up that I am unable to block when I'm using Firefox as my web browser. In the Firefox PREFERENCES I have CHECKED the box for blocking pop-ups (and there is nothing showing in the EXCEPTIONS).

This pop up is in a shape of a rectangle with some screensaver advertising on it.
Thank you,
Anna

I did check my EXCEPTION box and there is nothing listed there. I don't know what else I could do to block them. I cleaned my cache, cookies, etc...

    Any help will be appreciated!

One way to manage this is to install the NoScript plug-in <http://noscript.net/>
It allows one to block all scripts except for those you wish to load--such as a trusted media server, or online bank account.

Try to remove the checked mark on block pop-up windows. Tell em if that will show up still.

If you are talking about in a web browser, go to Google and search "adblocker for chrome" if you use Google Chrome, "adblocker for firefox" if you use Firefox, etc. If you don't know which browser you use, visit this website: http://whatbrowser.org/ and when you go to Google, search "adblocker for [your browser name]"

How do i enable popups in SurgeWeb?

Hi, not sure about this app, but if it is web based, I will assume it runs on Safari. Have you enabled popups in Safari? Also, I would try with another browser like Chrome or Firefox. Make sure you are not running any 3 rd party popup blockers!
For future reference, it help us to know a bit more about your Mac, like what OS X is running and Safari version, if it is updated, etc.

Stopping my automatic connection to Mozilla Firefox

Each web browser has menu options to make it the default browser. If you don't want Firefox as the default, then run whatever browser you want and find the menu selection to make that the default. They usually ask when you first start them up. But I have not used Safari or Chrome, so can't tell you exactly what menu.

How can I remove the block on my Imac. So I can review my health insur.

I take it that you mean a block on pop up windows on the net browser. You can do this by going to preferences in Firefox and under content remove the block popup windows tick in the box or by making the website you are going to an exception in the exceptions box. Or in safari go to preferences go to security and uncheck the block pop-up windows check box. Hope this helps.

I have a mac and I can't load my facebook page at all and my youtube is not able to play video although I can still open the page.

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

Depending on your web browser, you first should clear the Cache of the select web browser and then reset the browser.

I would also recommend you try this simple procedure I am providing you from MacOSX.com forum regarding the inability to launch or load Facebook:
Link: Cannot Load Facebook on my Mac

In regards to video suggest you try, depending on the web browser you have (Safari or Firefox) is to check the Add-ons of that browser, for any updated plug-ins for viewing Youtube videos.

If you are accustomed to using just one browser, experiment with different browsers.

The most commonly used web browsers for Mac OS X are:

* Safari (Built-in web browser from Apple direct)

* Firefox (Developed by Mozilla)

* Camino (Developed by Mozilla)

* Opera (Developed by Opera Software)

For your current web browser, if you want to keep working on the video playback for your Youtube, you should clear the Cache of the web browser and reset your browser.

These are some general practices to resolving the stated issues you are having with launching Facebook and loading YouTube videos.

Let me know if this helps.

How do I unblock cookies on my Mac? It won't let me sign off hotmail because it says I cookies are blocked.

The instructions are specific to the browser and OS you are using. Since you didn't specify, I will provide instructions for the Apple standard Safari browser on Snow Leopard (10.6). If you are using some other browser, such as FireFox, the instructions will be vaguely similar but not identical.
Under the Safari menu, open Preferences, then go to the Security tab. You will see a selection for "Accept cookies: Always, Never, Only from sites I visit." If "Only from sites I visit" (the preferred choice) doesn't make Hotmail happy, you will have to set it to "Always." Remember, you can always set it back later, and if certain websites still demand that you allow third-party advertising cookies, you may want to reassess whether you want to continue your relationship with those websites.

As of December 31, 2005, Microsoft no longer provided support for Internet Explorer for Mac.

As a result, Microsoft recommended all users of IE for Mac, use either Safari, or any other 3rd party, Mac compatible browser. Here are 3 of the more popular made for Mac browsers, widely used with Macs as well as Safari 4.0:
  • Firefox for Mac v3.6
  • Camino for Mac v2.0.1
  • Opera for Mac v10.10
All of these browsers are free downloads and are easy to via Google or any other web search engine you like to use.

Because you should have Safari built in, I would recommend you access that web browser, by going into Finder > Applications> Safari and launching that web browser.

This should enable you to continue surfing online, despite the IE setback.

Let me know if this data is helpful to you.

Thanks!

How do you remove block pop ups from mac pro

Are you using Safari? The following will clear your browser. Try a Safari reset:

Click on Safari in your Safari menu, located at the top of your screen. A drop-down menu will now appear. Choose the option labeled Reset Safari
this will give you the option to delete stored login info, favicons, cache, history, and cookies. If you do a full reset you’ll likely see noticeably improved browser performance, but you’ll need to log in to all the websites that normally “remember” you, so if you doubt you’ll be able to recall all of your login info across the Web, try deleting everything but login info and cookies first to see if that speeds things up.
If you are using Firefox: http://noscript.net/getit Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
