Question about Dell Inspiron 1200 Notebook
There is normal a button on the front edge or on the side that turns the WiFi on and off. There is also a blue function key that turns it on and off. If both of these do not work and you are sure the WiFi on the laptop is off and not that there is not Wi-Fi working it the laptop's range then the wireless card inside the laptop is malfuntioning.
If it is an HP DV series, they have a motherboard issue that one of the issues you see if the WiFi goes out. Then you can start seeing issues with the graphics card and your screen. They were fixing this under an extended warranty but they stopped that as of Dec 31, 2008
