Question about Delta T13420 Chrome Classic Single Handle Monitor Pressure Balanced Tub and

1 Answer

I have a barely used delta monitor 1300/1400 shower valve. After plumber installed it it apparently has never been able to turn all the way to the right to turn off. It also does not seem to get very hot. I have a generic manual, but am not sure what to try next. I have removed the cartridge and trying rotating it and the stop etc. We are on a lake pump and there can be some debris in the system so I have cleaned the pipe, wondering if maybe the cartridge has gotten some dirt or solder in it? any help would be greatly appreciated. jg

Hi,
Take the handle off and then there is a flat plastic washer... take that off... behind that there is a plastic stop that is very difficult to move, but with some work you can turn that and then push it back in to give you hotter water...

Our shower valve will not shut off on new install

It's not clear whether you installed this yourself or whether a plumber did the install. I suspect it's a DIY effort, so you may have to de-install the unit and return for an exchange. A reputable plumber would have checked the unit out before leaving your home.

How do I replace a Delta shower faucet with a new one?

should not be necessary to get behind the shower stall as there should be a hole big enough to remove /replace the facet insert
call a plumber in as it may be corroded in place and may require specialist tools for the job

What to do if i can't stop the water flowing from the shower spout and there's little water pressure coming from the shower head and a hand held shower?

One rule I live by: more parts, more problems. Sounds to me that the plumbing/valves were not insalled properly. If you hired a profesional plumber, have them fix it. I am a licensed profesional plumber and I offer a 1 year warranty on all my work. If the contractor did the work and does not hold a plumbing license, that person is still responsible and may have to suffer legal consequenses.

When delta shower faucet turned on the water comes out of tub spout as well as the shower head, rough in valve is installed correctly with the word up, up

Sounds like the delta people forgot to install the diverter piece inside of valve body, small white plastic piece screwed into valve. If you take out valve you should see it up inside body

Plumber installed a delta multichoice valve trim 17 two years ago. The water temperature knob is getting harder to turn again. It happened a year ago too and the plumber put in a new cartirdge saying...

not all that familiar with your particular faucet. but in my experience, most plumbers dont put grease on the valves when installing them . the factory just uses enough grease to get the valve in the faucet. if you have extremely hot water and use it . it wont take to long for it to cause this problem.. just an opinion. i cant imagine how the buildings shutoff could have anything to do with your problem.

I just installed a series 13/14 single valve tub/shower faucet. When I try to turn on just the tub spout, the shower comes on as well. What could be causing this?

most likely problem is to much pressure in water lines if u have shut off valves on to feed lines turn them down a little will decrease pressure to the valve other problem the spout {tub} diverted is partially engaged, loose, debris or defective if u can reremove the spout and observe the valve for proper function

When installing a flexishower head, install it in front of the actual shower head with a diverter switch. If you try to operate two shower heads at once, you may suffer poor water pressure. There are handheld shower sets sold which are installed to existing shower assemblies with ease. Rememer to use plumber's tape and protect your stainless steel by wrapping you pliers teeth in electrical tape.

Low pressure on Delta 1400 series shower head

The Shower Valve is regulated to give only 2.2 gallons a minute. If you have the shower head off test how many seconds to get an approximiate gallon running in the middle hot/cold position. If longer than 30 seconds either the stem in the valve is clogged or the water lines to the valve are too small or kinked.
