Question about GPS
Can anyone please tell me why the Spoken Address and Spoken Address (Dialogue) buttons on the 'navigate to' screen are shown in grey and won't let me activate them? I bought this unit in Australia where I live.
I had the same problem, On the new aps with the latest software v8 this is disabled as tomtom dont advertise this feature in Australia. Phone tomtom cust support and ask to lodge an official complaint. The guy at tomtom said if there are enough complaints from owners they would look at supporting this feature. I see it as a safety feature so removing it is a step backwards for tomtom.
Hope this answers your question

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Use Windows explorer or some other file manager
to view all folders and files on your docked (and powered on) Tom tom unit.
If you don't see a folder in the root of the unit called ASR, then create it.
Now, in the folder ASR, you create a text file using Notepad. Just put a 1 in it, nothing else. Save the file as support_asr.dat and make sure in Notepad when in the Save as screen, you have selected 'All files' as the file type .
Finally, to make sure, in Windows XP, goto Control Panel-->Folder Options-->View tab, and make sure the option under Advanced settings window for 'Hide extension for known file types' is UNCHECKED.
