I have Kenmore model 106.71182101 with the same problem; cold freezer, warm fridge. The fan in freezer is not working. I tried to spin fan blades manually with a small stick but they would not rotate. I haven't defrosted freezer - is it likely the blades are frozen or do I have a defective fan? thx

I disagree with freetek.
We have the coldspot 106.569.86601 and this same issue happened. The issue can simply be the need to defrost the whole refrigerator. Our freezer was working fine and the fridge was warm (4 years old).
We unplugged the unit and let it completely defrost for 12 hours (overnight). It takes about this long for everything to defrost, even if it may seem as though its warm in the freezer the inside fan may not be thawed yet. This is also a good time to clean it out and disinfect it. Then plug it in and it should reach satisfactory temp by 4 hours. If it is not working at this point, it is probably a compressor/sensor issue.

Doing the above worked perfectly for us. :) Good luck!

A common problem; the fan which should circulate some of the cooled air into the fridge is not running. You can verify this while the compressor is running by wetting your fingers and holding them near the vents in the back of the refrigerator. If you cannot detect any air flow, the fan is dead.

Go to Sears parts website and enter your model number. Especially since it is Kenmore, it should bring up a line-drawing and parts list for your model.
Sears Parts Direct
You can then decide whether it is accessible enough for a DIY replacement or if you would rather call a service company to replace it for you. Check with your local BBB to pick a reliable service company.

Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Freezer too cold--refrigerator too warm

If the cold control is not adjusting the temp when you move it, that can be part of the problem.

Kenmore Coldspot not keeping cold. Ice in freezer

What are your temp controls set to? If the controls are set to the max setting and it won't reach temp, you could have a broad range of problems ranging from bad door gaskets, to bad temp controls, to a low refrigerant charge, to possible a failing mechanical part such as a fan motor or compressor.

Kenmore Coldspot 106.9552610 not cold enough

Inside the fresh food compartment look for an opening that will allow you to turn the defrost timer clockwise slowly. When you hear it click the refrigerator should go into defrost. If the timer is bad it will need replaced. Let me know. Below is a photo of timer.

I have a Kenmore coldspot side by side- not cooling properly

Setting it to 5 is what the manufacturer recommends. If you set it to 1 and the frig is still not cold, then you probably have a faulty cold control (thermostat)
