Today, the cases come with a 'generic' back port that pops out for specific motherboards. The Asus board should have come with a metal plate that replaces the case's version, and lines up the ports.

Chassis intruder, fatal error system halt on asus p5pe-vm.how can i fix it

Hello, you can download a manual here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5PEVM/#download

Please select your windows version.
Select manual and click on global for download.
Unzip the file before installation.

And remove the cable on the mainboard for the contact on the chassis.
When that is done enter the bios and set the setting for the chassis intruder to off
Read about that in the manual.
The chassis intruder is used by admins to see if the case have been opened
when the case is opened the bios will block the system from booting until the setting in the bios
is set back to normal.

ASUS P4S533-E. Question : The system intruded, chassis opened or tempered before. Please check the system. What does it mean?

Some computer-cases have a small switch that is "triggered" when somebody removes a side-panel. The trigger sets a flag on the motherboard, to say "intrusion", i.e., somebody opened the case, possibly removed something (RAM, video-card), or cut some wires.

You need to inspect the computer, to see if the "intruder" did anything to your computer.

Then, you can enter BIOS SETUP mode, and "clear" that flag.

Optionally, you can then "disable" that "chassis intrusion" programming.

Chassis intruded... fatal error.. system halt..

If your case is not setup for chassis intrusion, the motherboard has dropped a jumper.
The location is by the last PCI slot between the CD audio connector and the USB bus plug. (it is right next to the CLRTC jumpers)

Good luck

I bought the hp slimline s3707c a few months ago and I love it! But due to me being a huge gamer I needed to upgrade my Vid Card. The new card doesn't fit in the tower so I bought a bigger tower and was...

My best suggestion is to get a professional installer to do it for you.

If you want to do it yourself.
  1. take the top of (make sure to ground yourself) and DONT work on carpet if possible. Static is bad!
  2. the HP is nice in the way that it has sliding internal features. So some of the chasis will slide out of the way. Take advantage of this.
  3. BEFORE you take ANYTHING APART make sure the mounting screws of the motherboard line up with the mounting area of your newly bought CASE. Also, make sure output on powersupply on new case comparable to your existing one, and that connector wll fit your MotherBoard.
  4. disconnect all power supply wires
  5. take out Power supply which will give you more room
  6. disconnect ribbon cables (or SATA), remove them.
  7. unscrew mounting screws on motherboard and put it in your new case. Make sure MotherBoard does NOT ground to your case (IE it should not wiggle around) and be put in securely
  8. remove peripherals from your old case and put in your new case (HDD, CDROM, etc.)
  9. connect power supply cables, then ribbon cables (or SATA if so)
  10. Put case together and connect wires in back (Monitor, keboard, etc.)
  11. Your are done, Congratulations!

What is chassis intruder

Chasis intruder is a warning that your CPU has been opened by someone
it is normally used to warn you against unautorized BIOS or SYSTEM PASSWORD removal
There is a switch in your casing that detects this.

Leave this setting to enabled (recomemded)

Thanx and i hope this info is helpfull

very simple shut down computer put side panel back on and restart go into bios and under the settings somewhere you will see enable chassis intrusion. Just disable that. If you put cover back on then proceeded by turning power on and you still get this error than it is time to clear CMOS and then you must go into the bios and hit setup default and then go into any timings and voltage settings for CPU Memory and such. and also disable the chassis intrusion. You can enable it at anytime. just as long it is not powered up when removing side panel. I hope this is helpful.

Computer Build Problem

Try taking out the mobo and ps out of its casing, lay it on a table, hook things together and power it up. I had some problems before caused by mounting studs or try insulating all stubs from the mobo. hope this will help.
