Question about Dell InspironTM 1501 Notebook

1 Answer

Recently I brought my Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop in for repairs - too many viruses & needed cleaning up! I did not bring my own adapter so they used their own. When I brought it home and booted up, and ever since then, I get this message: "Warning: The battery cannot be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery. Press F2 2x for Setup F12 and any key to enter boot Menu." When I called the repair service, I was told why this was happening (explanation above) and to push F1. When I do this I can use the computer and the message disappears, but the battery does not charge. Is there a fix for this? I've tried disconnecting from power source, removing battery and holding down the power button for 5-10 seconds, on the advice of a computer geek, but that doesn't work. The message is irritating and I must be connected to a power source to use the machine.

I am using a Dell Laptop and it is inspiron 1501. But its battery is not charging. I get 2 error message the adapter can not recognise... The battery can not recogise.. Something like that. The laptop gets...

try to remove the battery from the computer, after unplugging it, plug in the AC adapter without the battery and check if it will turn on. if it doesnt then 2 possible reason
1. the AC adapter is busted, you can try a known good Dell AC adapter. if its still now working with a know good AC adapter then
2. its the motherboard that needs to be replaced.
Hope this help

Dell inspiron 1501 cannot indentify ac adapter

try this first. drain the flea power. remove batter and ac adapter. press and hold on the power button for 10 seconds. plug back ac adapter and battery. go online to http:support.dell.com then download the latest bios update.

once you reach the dell support site select on support for home users. then drivers and downloads. enter the service tag.

when the list of drivers and updates are listed make sure you selected the correct operating system. look for the BIOS then download it via browser. (do not download the manager)

after the download run or install the update.

If all fails. try a diff ac adapter if same problem message appears then replace the motherboard. else replace ac adapter.

Dell 1501 inspiron does not recognize adaptor and will not charge. I am on second adaptor

If you are using a second adapter, then the problem could the battery or the power jack where the adapter is connected to.

First, try removing the battery and connect the adapter to the computer and to the wall socket. Turn the laptop on, and if it works, then the problem is the battery.

But if the laptop did not turn on, try slowly wiggling the adapter connector while it's connected to the power jack, if you find it loose, then you just need to contact a repair tech to tighten it.

But if the power jack is tight, but still the laptop is not charging, then this laptop needs repair.

Have a good day!

Dell Inspiron 1501 will not boot with battery or adapter

Take the battery out and try with AC only, if no change, then you will likely need a motherboard replacement

Enable my dell inspiron 1501 bluetooth

I looked over the system configurations for the Inspiron 1501, and it doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities built into it. The 1520 series does, but not the 1501. The only way you're going to be able to add Bluetooth technology is to purchase a Bluetooth usb adapter. Here's a link to the 1501 manuals if you would like to look over them.
