Turn the icemaker off for more than 30 seconds, then turn it back on and press in on the white lever three times. The icemaker should cycle and run water. If it does run water the first thing you should look for is blocked airflow.

Make sure the fan in the freezer is running.

Look at the back freezer wall and see if there is thick ice/frost on it. If so you most likely have a defrost problem. Remove the back panel off the freezer and if ice is completely blocking the coils from top to bottom you have a defrost problem. If ice is partially blocking the coils you may have an air leak such as door gasket or the flap inside the ice shoot in the door could be hung open, a bad thermistor, or a refrigeration problem. This URL will help with all of that…

I think your water line if frozen either in the fresh food section or in the freezer door. To determine where the line if frozen take the line loose under the freezer door and attempt to dispense water. If you are getting water there the line is frozen in the door and if not the line is frozen in the fresh food section.

To unthaw the line if the door open the door and press the door switch and repeatedly attempt to dispense water until water comes out. If the flap inside the ice shoot is hung open it will cause cold air to freeze the water line. If the flap isn’t hung open GE makes a heater that will keep this from happing again part number WR49X10173. For more on this visit this URL…

If the water line if frozen in the fresh food section remove the drawers in the bottom and use a hair drier to thaw out the line. Blocked airflow will cause this line to freeze.

I hope this helps!

in case you did not fix the filter properly, you can use the below instruction.

How To Replace Kenmore Refrigerator Water Filter

    1. Take the new water filter out of the box and remove the two red shipping caps on the end of the filter.

    2. The water filter is located on the front panel down near the floor as shown in the photos.

    3. Push the release button located just to the left of the water filter grille cap, this will release the filter.

    4. Remove the grille cap from the filter by twisting it counterclockwise.

    5. Reinstall the grille cap on the new water filter.

    6. Insert the new water filter in the refrigerator making sure the words on the filter are the correct side up.

    7. Push the water filter in until it clicks in place.

Flush Water After Installing New Filter
Be sure you flush out the water from the new filter after you replace
it! Many readers are having trouble with airlocks because they are
skipping this important step. Kenmore recommends you run the water out
of the water and ice maker for a few minutes to flush out the new
filter. This also helps remove air bubbles from the system. If you
don’t do this it’s possible that the water dispenser may not work
properly due to an air lock.

This particular water filter claims to reduce:

    • Cysts and turbidity – linked to gastrointestinal problems

    • Lead

    • Chlorine – taste and odor for better tasting water

    • Sediment – for clearer water

    • o-Dichlorobenzene – linked to risk of liver, kidney, or circulatory system problems

    • Benzene – linked to increase risk of cancer and anemia

I highly doubt any of our town water really has a problem with these
issues. However, the water certainly tastes better after it’s filtered
so we’ll continue changing the filter on a regular basis.

No water coming from water dispenser.

It is possible the water control valve for that dispenser has failed and will not open. This happens a lot for those and the ice maker valves. All you need is the model number for your refrigerator and that will look like this for Kenmore. 213.564897 for example. and I will help you find the correct part number. Sea Breeze

HI. When a filter has reached its filtering limit, it must be replaced. Once the filter has reached its filtering limits, it will not allow for proper water flow. This will affect the operating status of the dispenser. With that being said, there are other issues that will affect the dispensers abilities as well. These issues are a faulty water inlet valve assembly, and frozen inlet lines. If you are having issues with the dispenser, make sure you inspect these areas as well. Your filter should have an installation date on the label. check to see that it is not over a year old. if so, it should be replaced.

The filter is located behind the front lower grille work. The grille should have a cut out space for it to slide into.

Kenmore Elite HE3 Washer fabric dispenser not working

This is usually just as simple as adjusting the syphone up and down. releveling your machine or cleaning the dispenser itself. when the water enters the dispenser gravity syphones the water out . nothing really machanical about it. unless the water is not filling up the cup enough to go above the max line. you can test it by putting water in the dispenser above the max line and adjusting the syphone cap up and down.this should grab a suction.

I have the opposite problem

You may have air in the system. When you actuate the dispenser it opens an electric valve in back to start the flow of water. When you release the dispenser air in the system expanding will cause the water to continue to flow until the pressure equalizes.

Water Dispenser is slow

if you are saying that the filter is not ready to be changed yet because its not yet six months, you can be wrong. it is just a suggested length of time to change a filter but it is still dependent on the water flowing to the filter. if the filter is not that expensive then you can try replacing it or if you can monitor the pressure of the water coming to the ref then that would be a good solution. you can start fro there. if there is good pressure, there is a big chance that you have a bad filter. if the pressure is low, then there is your answer. i hope i was able to help.
